Mop Donuts

They look fantastic! And they're not bad, they just aren't that good either. They taste like the donuts you'd get from Coles for like $1.50. I'd be happy to eat it if someone gave it to me, and happy to pay up to $2 for the better ones, but after 4 attempts to justify these donuts at that price, I won't be going back (the problem is that they're just so conveniently placed by the Perth underground I was just tempted every time I saw them). The first time I tried the oreo one and it was fine. I was disappointed with the salted caramel. The donut itself didnt have a lot of flavor and the filling felt cheap. The Ferrero was the same. I think my favorite was the Raspberry White Chocolate but the frosting cracked and fell off after one bite and I was left with just an average donut. Maybe my expectations are too high, but for that price point I expect some sort of added value apart from aesthetics and convenience. BUT I would eat it if offered for free or if they went on sale for 50% off!

*Four of the doughnuts had been eaten before I took a picture* Bought these doughnuts first thing and it’s safe to say they went down well - salted caramel with custard was delicious, but when I tried the Nutella doughnut it was unfortunately pretty dense and didn’t taste fresh at all. Delicious flavours, but didn’t taste soft or as fresh as I would have expected annoyingly!

Bought an Oreo donut with Oreo cream cheese filling and it tasted so sour I spat it out and we had to return to let them know. Turns out there’s nothing wrong just that Oreo and cream cheese are meant to taste sour according to the lady at the counter. But she did swap it for us with a s’mores donut which was not bad. Wouldn’t return.

The one I really wanted to try was out of stock on my first visit, on my second visit, everything had sold out before closing time! I must try again before leaving Perth at the end of the week. Apologies for no photo of the donut I did buy... too delicious. Free cup of hot milo with each transaction too! 👌🏼
