Extra’s Peterborough Service Area

We drove 6 hours from Scotland and I googled best services on A1 motorway, this came up. It was worth the wait, lots of toilets. Possibly like 20-25 cubicles. There's a pizza place, empty shop which uses to be patisserie Valerie, marks and Spencer's (my fave and extortionate prices), KFC, Macdonalds, wh smiths, some burrito shop, Costa and right in front is the Chinese take away. I like the service station, probably one of the better ones in England. There's plenty of benches outdoors, lots of tables and chairs. Why I didn't give it 5* still could be cleaner.

Never used this Services before, but will definitely use again. Just of A1. Plenty of parking with good facilities. There are the regular fast food chains McDonald’s and KFC but some really nice outlets like PizzaLuxe, West Cornwall Pasty Company, EL Mexican, Chopsix. Also has an Esso Petrol station, M&S food and Costa Coffee. Plenty of outdoor space for picnics with tables provided. A nice children’s park outside. Hotel attached for overnight stays and a large truck stop. Very clean inside. The toilets were modern and clean. McDonald's is a cheap and cheerful fix for food and drink on the go. Will look out for Extra Services in the future.

Very clean inside toilets were in good condition. This place does get extremely busy at certain periods throughout the day so please bare that in mind.

Brilliant services....why? Well let me explain. Accessible from both directions of A1. Lots of parking, space for cars, coaches & Lorries, clearly marked and generously allotted. Inside there is a plethora of food options. From Mc Donald's, KFC, PIZZA, Costa, to mexican, WH Smith, M&S food, bakery Quicksilver (Arcade games) and many others. A BIG CENTRAL AREA to sit and eat common to all the shops. We were going from London to Lincoln and stopped in the way to have breakfast and we loved it so much that we purposely came back while returning. Toilets were clean and huge...could accommodate at least 50 people in one go and hence you not need to wait outside. Fuel section also similarly wide, open and accessible.
