We came on Easter Sunday (not knowing whether B&S would be open - tip to owner; update social media and have a message on your answer phone saying opening hours). The setting of the cafe is really nice, a delightful breeze plays through the open verandah. It’s a peaceful place to sit with the pool on side and the new kids park the other (park is a good one). The coffee was nicely balanced and well made. The menu is short but the items are tasty and not over priced. Overall a good experience. The front of house staff could be a bit more on the ball (read other reviews).

Beautiful space Hired out this cafe for a one year old birthday party and it was awesome. For a minimum spend we got to hire out the cafe, it comes with a really good space and a beautiful wooden table centrepiece to put the food on. The cafe is also conveniently located next to the playground and Swimming pool. The kids just ran to playground to play then come for food and back to playing at the playground again. Perfect entertainment for them and no need to hire extra entertainment. The swimming pool was closed on a Sunday which was a shame but if able to time it well, it could be a hit! Karen the owner is most helpful and accommodating. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely return. Note the desserts and fruits were supplied by us, we ordered savoury food from the cafe

The staff at this place are horrible, they are to slow and the prices are way too high. The bad thing is they have no competition near such a beautiful spot so they can be as bad as they want. Please don't spend your money here if you want coffee please go to brothers ben and for food brighton the corner.

Came here last weekend with my husband, baby and in laws. The cafe was not that busy with only 2 tables taken. We had to follow up with the waitress for our coffees which finally arrived after 45 min wait. Unfortunately the 2 coffees that arrived first were stone cold so we sent them back and was told they were going to be replaced. Our other 2 coffees came but no sign of the replacement coffees. We enquired again and the coffee staff knew nothing about needing to remake the coffees. Food was fine and location was lovely but staff need more experience.

Petersham pool might be closed for winter but Bread and Stone Cafe is still trading parkside. Great coffee and good food make this an ideal spot for casual breakfast or lunch. It is the only cafe in North Petersham opening seven days. Limited menu of hot items plus the availability of cold drinks and icecreams mean that most are catered for. 50-60 seats at a push with almost half outdoors so parents can sip whilst keeping an eye on their kids at the adjacent playground. If it rains there is also a small table with stools and colouring-in pencils available. Service is friendly and efficient though weekend mornings there can be the odd queue. Highly recommended. UPDATE: April 2018 New management: Ignore the nice things above as there has been an almost total change. If you can fluke coffee from the long term staff you'll be okay but coffee from the new Manager is worse than Starbucks and food similar. Why do people go into hospitality if they have no feel for it ? The nice stools that fitted under the outside bench table have gone and been replaced by things that are far too high. The kiddies' desk is now outside in the elements. The local community flyers have gone. And there's an almost constant screeching at staff in the background that customers can't help but overhear and so visiting becomes uncomfortable in just about every way possible..

I went to this cafe to buy ice-block for my girls, it was such a hot day and they were excited to have them. We picked 4 including one for me, when I provided my bank card to pay for all, the guy said sorry cash only, our card machine is not working. I didn’t think it was a problem because I always use my card many times previously. I think next time you should put a sign stating about the issue or let people know straight away. My kids were crying because they were already holding your melting ice-blocks which had to be returned back to the freezer. It’s inconvenient and time waste for your customers!
