Bubblefish Bubble Tea & Sushi

Absurdly delicious Japanese food. Last night I made the very wise decision to order takeout from this restaurant for the first time, and let me tell you, eating this food felt... transcendent. Like as I chewed my soul left my body and began dancing in the space between stars in a warm and welcoming universe. The chicken katsu and sushi (yellowtail/jalepeño + crab/mango/cheese) were perfectly executed versions of dishes that are very familiar to me. The onigiri rice ball (I tried the seaweed salad flavor) and takoyaki octopus balls were completely new for me and are now hovering comfortably near the top of my personal all time best dish list. I'm new to Philly and am working on eating my way across the city — so far Bubblefish is tied for first place as my favorite! It's going to be harder to try as many new places, now that I know these delicious balls are so easily within reach. Compliments to the chef! Update: My guy and I have ordered Bubblefish as least 2 more times since my initial review. Last time I made a pair of onigiri the main course of my meal. The spicy kani salad and seaweed flavors are the current front runners and their sauces are a must-try. They make the best spicy Mayo and a killer honey wasabi. Update 2: I finally dined in! Great experience. Tried the uni and the bubblefish special roll for the first time. Very tasty and the service+ atmosphere were excellent.

Great for a night out. Place was packed so be sure to get a reservation beforehand, but despite being packed the staff was A+. You could tell that despite the fast paced environment, all of them were looking to make our night out special and were more than happy to talk despite the busy atmosphere. Our server, Eddy, was especially on top of things. The food was great, and they were attentive towards my girlfriend’s allergies.

I LOVEE THIS PLACE!! I’ve been going here for years ever since my friend brought me here. Been bringing all my other friends since and I’ve never had not one bad experience. The sushi always tastes fresh, the appetizers absolutely BANG, and the oysters are Michelin star level tasting and decorated, my taste buds explode every time. Servers are always efficient and do their job well. Look forward to coming back.

Food: I had the spicy miso ramen and beef skewer. The ramen tastes typical for Philly. It lacks richness but is filling. The beef skewer is not bad and is made of lean beef. Atmostphere: It was around 2:00pm and was at medium capacity. They chose to open the massive door-windows in the front of the store. I sat by the said opening and find it quite warm. The music could be described as smooth jazz. Price: The price is to be expected from a modern pub-restaurant hybrid. However, tax is not included in the menu price. I recommend you try to come during the happy hours, 3-5pm Mon-Fri. Service: Very responsive service. There were only two servers and they handled themselves well.

Great customer service. Food is above average. The Beef Fried Rice was truly outstanding, and its flavors were beyond expectations. The Popcorn Chicken instantly transported me back to the streets of Taiwan with its authentic taste. Our order also included the Soft Shell Crab Roll and the Tempura Shrimp Eel Roll, both of which were incredibly delectable. The freshness of the sashimi was undeniable, showcasing the quality of ingredients used.
