Wishbone

Went here with my family this past Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The staff was very friendly, ambiance very cool, and most importantly the food was delicious. I had the chicken bahn mi sandwich which was fantastic. My picky 2 year old toddler loved everything he ate, chicken tendies, mac n cheese, fries, and dipping sauce. The tendies are the best and they even have a great salad option for those who want to eat healthier. Will definitely go back to this and their center city location!

I had four white meat tenders (1lb), banana butter scotch pudding, coleslaw, biscuit, 5 different sauces and it was good overall! Each tender was so big and so crispy outside! I was full after eating two pieces. It is also good to have many options for sauce, my favorite was modern bbq! Coleslaw was good and fresh too. I got it ordered thru Ubereats, and the chicken was still very crispy even after cool down!

I’ve been wanting to try this chicken place forever. I first seen them on doordash but seen mixed reviews. I finally stopped in the 40th street location after work. They have a little combo where you get chicken Mac and cheese and a specialty house soda they sell with different flavors. I had to wait 10 mins for the Mac and cheese and it was definitely worth the wait. It’s more so a casserole than traditional Mac and cheese but it’s really good! Different cheese chicken sausage chives and a pretzel topping. The chicken is really good too as I had got mixed review about that but it was crispy and juicy too. I tried the chipotle like mayo which was really good and a biscuit which was super butter and fluffly and soft. I did not try the soda but they give the option of the soda or bottle water. They weigh the chicken so you only get two tenders but for $12 and some change, I think it was pretty reasonable and worth the price.

My husband had the Wishboner - he said it was hearty, hot, and tasty. He also enjoyed the potato salad - he said it was creamy with a nice spice. I had the mac and cheese which was more like a casserole or pasta dish to me. The addition of sausage made it stiffer and drier than a traditional mac and cheese which is fine if you are into that. We split a biscuit with strawberry jam and it was fabulous. The banana pudding and the Mexican chocolate pudding were also amazing. The menu prices were staggeringly low for Philly. I can't wait to go back!

Had a lot of fun getting some chicken here with my little sisters last week. I've been a fan of Wishbone for a long time, but this was my first time visiting their U city location. If you've never been, all you need to know is get chicken and some fresh hot biscuits. They have the best, most buttery biscuits I've ever enjoyed in my life. Like so much butter I'm not sure it's legal, but I'm not reporting them for it! Would definitely go back in the future, and they're definitely a top pick for catering anything that chicken goes good with... so Everything.
