What a fun and delicious place to visit in Philly!

Best bar in Philadelphia! Great staff and great atmosphere. The building is so cool and the garden is perfect. Not as many sardines as you expect but still a great place. We had a lovely afternoon/eve here and would defo recommend. If this was my local I’d never leave.

I’ve been to the American Sardine Bar many times and I am shocked I didn’t review yet?
I became a fan of Sardines after a recent trip to Portugal! Now I can’t get enough of sardines…fried, grilled or sautéed!
This bar always has a great beer tap list and can selection!
The staff are always friendly and provide great recommendations!

Excellent service, great beer and cocktail menu, delicious food! Can't wait to return and try their sandwiches and get the Tinned Fish Board again 😋 everything was awesome, sitting outside on their lawn chairs had fun vibes, the restaurant looks cool and quirky. Waitstaff are super friendly and nice; couldn't be happier with having visited and am looking forward to going back

A key establishment in the neighborhood. Wonderful atmosphere inside and outside patio anytime of the day. Service is quicker inside than outside, which is somewhat understandable. I would give the food 3 stars - average and limited items. But added 1 star because of the ample beer selection.

Great atmosphere, food is hit or miss. I say that because they like to experiment with their recipes a lot. Nothing ends up being exactly what you envision. Fries are always solid though and if the brunchwrap supreme is on the menu, I’m gonna order it every time. They have some cheap beer for the area

This is such a cozy spot with great food and vibes! The wings, sauces and fries were so good! Tasty and reasonable portions for the prices. The cocktails were also good and paired well with the food. My friends went on a Wednesday evening and it was comfortable with the warm dim lights and a pleasant crowd (not to noisy or anything). The customer service was fantastic as we were seated quickly and didn't wait long for our food. Erin was our waitress and she was so sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable, especially with helping my friend navigate the menu with his dietary restrictions. Overall, this feels like your local cozy neighborhood bar and I'd definitely come back! The only thing I can't speak to is sardines which is their special (I don't eat seafood haha) but that's probably good too!
