Frida Cantina

Went with a friend for a nosh. Place is very nice, authentically Mexican (not Americanized Mexican) and professionally managed. The night we went was close to 9pm and the bartender served our table. Food was bussed out in record timing, all staff were pleasant and accommodating (my first time to that place and was impressed with the service quality, staff dedication and professionalism, and overall design aesthetic sent me right to the heart of Mexico with my gauchos and sombrero

Wow, so happy we decided to order takeout from Frida's! We had the al pastor tacos, perfectly packaged and large portions. The tacos were delicious. Also had the tomatillo chicken enchiladas, what an amazing, tangy sauce! They're also covered in Oaxaca cheese....so good! Tender chicken, great flavor! Also tried the steak quesadillas, omg yum. I loved how they were prepared and the steak was delicious! Also, churros!! Holy cow, the best churros I think I've ever had (they even beat the ones I've had in Mexico!) Just get them, you won't be disappointed. I love this place! The food was amazing, packaging was on point, everything came hot and with no mess. Can't wait to try other items on the menu!

Frida Cantina is a small and very adorable Mexican restaurant in south Philadelphia. The restaurant was decorated very nicely and it was very clean. The atmosphere of the restaurant was beautiful, but chairs were very very uncomfortable. They looked very authentic, but you can’t sit very long. I shared tinga de pollo quesadilla and suadero taco with my friend. Quesadilla was very tasty, but we both didn’t like taco that much. Main course he had camarones al ajillo and I had camarones al chipotle. Each of them came with rice and house salad. They were very delicious and perfectly cooked. House salad was very fresh too. The service was great and all of the servers were very polite and friendly. The prices were very reasonable. They have an amazing drink menu too.

I haven't had the pleasure of eating here yet. They are a customer of mine for the beer gas. But judging from the atmosphere & the kindness of the staff, I would say they are A+ When I get a chance to have a meal from here I will definitely post again. Really impressive place they have. Extremely generous portions and prompt service. The entire vibe is cute and authentic with Frida Kahlo portraits all over. We split two tacos (with 3 tacos per dish) and a tres leches cake. It was perfect for 3 people. Chips and salsa was free for the table and the two salsas were delicious and definitely seemed house made. They went great on the tacos as well! Overall, a great place to dine in and enjoy Mexican food.
