My sister had Federal Donuts delivered for my birthday and I was super excited because I hadn't tried them yet. They travel really well because of the way that they are glazed. This box was made up of fancy varieties: Cannoli, Chocolate Toffee, Blueberry Lemon, Peach Marshmallow, Banana Nutella, and some chocolate thing I couldn't figure out. they were all delicious but I am looking forward to trying some of their more basic flavors. Federal Donuts is an institution here in Philly. They have built a great brand with recognition locally. This is definitely something to try when you are in town

Ordered a plain donut to go with the great cup of coffee I just got in Whole Foods. Paid and even added a dollar tip. Told to wait a few minutes. While I was waiting there was a shift change. Waited while other customers were waited on. Asked for my donut and was told the employee knew nothing about it. Got the sad looking item a minute or two later. Usually like their donuts. I tried soaking up the excess grease with a few napkins and ended up tossing it. If I had eaten it I would have tossed it another way.

I actually had a bad first experience with the federal donuts on Samson street, but this made up for it!! You MUST get the chicken sandwich!! And of course the donuts ;) But the chicken sandwich blew my mind and I wanted 5 more. The best thing about the federal donuts in Whole Foods is that they sell beer and you can drink it in the Whole Foods! So it's almost like a B.Y.O.B spot! We love coming here!
