Old Bag Of Nails

I always enjoy Old Bag. I had my first visit at the Pickerington location, our waiter very good, pleasant and knowledgeable. Side salad was excellent, I went simple with onion rings and chicken tenders the meal was fantastic. Someone at the table ordered the grill corn on the cob which was the talk of the table very very good. We ordered carrot cake to go it had way too much coconut for me but if you are a fan of coconut go with it.

Decided to stop in as we’ve never been here. At first it was nice, there was little to nobody there and food came out fast. The mozzarella sticks were good, the marinara sauce bland and runny. The fries were good, the bbq chicken wrap was “ok” was not fond of the small pieces of chicken in it. The big pieces of onion could have been excluded too. The vodka/lemonade had to have been the worst tasting drink I’ve ever had. In fact I’m not sure it wasn’t actually tequila instead of vodka because if it was vodka it had to have been the worst vodka known to mankind. Absolutely disgusting. Overall I was not that impressed after hearing good things. I’ll consider trying again and changing my review opinion but as of now 2 stars.

Went on a Thursday evening around 7pm. Ordered our food and waited about 40+ minutes for our food to come out. I ordered the chicken tender basket. It’s described as hand battered chicken tenders, what was delivered to the table was fried breaded tenders that were hand breaded at a factory far from the restaurant. My son ordered the double cheeseburger and fries and gobbled his food up. No complaints there. Wife ordered the fish and chips and after talking with the waiter he recommended the grilled fish instead of battered. Fish was cold and veggies she got were great she said. We finished dinner with an order of bread pudding and it truly was the best part of the meal. If we come back it’s because of the bread pudding. Lighting in the restaurant was horrible could barely see our tabletop. Not very bad but be prepared to wait for your food.

There was a small wait so I sat at the bar to watch the news until my table was ready. The bartender was the perfect amount of friendly, attentive and efficient. I ended-up eating at the bar and chatting with a lovely couple in their late 70s who go every week just to enjoy a glass of white wine together. How sweet is that?? The food was good, the service was great and I will definitely be adding this place to my regular rotation.

We were there for over an hour waiting on food, and just like the other reviews, there were no apologies. They weren't that busy, and every time we asked for something, it would take a long time for her to come back. I don't know her name but her hair is really long. She did not apologize one time. She was nice and professional but not attentive at all. The food was good but it was like she was completely oblivious to the time it took for everything. It's probably the first time ever that I have ever tipped that low.

It took more than an hour to get our meals. I asked the server an hour after meals were ordered, how much longer would we have to wait. There were No apologies, I was told they were short staffed and everyone had a long wait I wish we were informed about this earlier. We had a party 13 people. This has been an ongoing thing every time our family eats there.
