Lubell's Ice Cream

So we were on pine mountain to pick something up and was recommended to visit here for great ice cream. We decided to get a fruit smoothie and a chicken salad sandwich combo. First, if you tell me I am getting a fruit smoothie. I think real fruit not some liquid poured over some ice and blended. But, the taste was good juat not what I wanted. I wanted real fruit. Second, the chicken salad was not food at all. My sister and I both threw our meals in the trash. It taste like a low brand store bought chicken salad. However, everyone has different taste buds. So I say try it for yourself. On another note the customer service was impeccable to say the least. We felt welcome from the time we arrived until our departure. Everyone had great customer service skills and I will return when in pine mountain again.

This little family owned shop does sell ice cream, and it's good. But you gotta ask what they have that Mama made and get that, that's the real secret here. I ordered peach cobbler (home made) with vanilla ice cream and it was worth going out of your way to get. Also ordered sweet potato chili (also home made) which was also outstanding. I'm looking forward to coming back some day and seeing what else Mama whips up!

Good place for ice cream, however they didn't have as many flavors as I was expecting. I got pistachio and hubby got pecans & pralines in a plain waffle cone. It was $12 + change. It seemed like the little lady dipping the ice cream was in a hurry and wanted us to place our orders real quick, although there was no one else waiting behind us.

Stopped here while getting some gas next door and was surprised to see that this ice cream shop served food as well. Ordered some chicken and dumplings which came with a corn muffin and a soda can. This was the tastiest chicken and dumplings, I've ever had. It was perfectly hot, home made and seasoned perfectly. Such a wonderful surprise, they take credit cards and everything was ready very fast. Will have to try their ice cream next time, which is also home made.
