The Capital Grille

WOW! It’s been a very long time where we could find great service with great food. It was our first time dining and we absolutely LOVED Carlo! He was so informative and helped with making selections. Anything with the Oscar was the way to go. Stoli Doli is a fantastic drink. Calamari was great. Overall was a great experience. New England Clam Chowder was pretty darn good. 10/10 would come back any day of the week. Hopefully he’s there when we go back :)

I can’t remember the last time I was at the Capital Grille. It’s expensive, but the service and quality make it worth the price sometimes. My water was refilled almost too much. The service was wonderful. I’d never had a piece of tuna as large as what I got and they prepared it super rare as I requested. It was delicious. The vibe is a bit dark/fancy for my tastes (I’m more into modern looking than old school stuffy), but the service and food make up for that. I’m sure I’ll return now that I remember how close it is to the theatres. I forget it’s there.

This is your typical steak house with 5 star service! To me, they are all the same, though I do enjoy the atmosphere and professionalism of the wait staff. Never had a bad meal here. Generally spend between $300-$400 with wine/tip. We treat this as a date night or special occasion dining! Definitely worth a trip!

I used to say that no restaurant could ever be a pure 10/10 because no matter where I went the food was never taken to that next level that made my jaw drop. One other restaurant and The Capital Grille changed that opinion this year. The tuna tartare was a great start, the drinks were phenomenal, it was the best French onion soup I’ve ever had and the salads were top tier. My mother’s 10 oz filet was the most tender and flavorful steak I have ever tried in my life and my veal tomahawk was amazing for the one time in my life I allowed myself to try it. They brought us a complimentary dessert for my moms birthday that included samples of most of the dessert menu. Let me tell you I am not a dessert person and I couldn’t keep my fork away from that plate. Carlo was one of the best servers in the industry. Period. And I have never had someone act so courteous and be so informative with people who were as lost as we were at first… lol. After trying most of the fine dining restaurants in Pittsburgh, this is easily in the top 3. Highly recommend to anybody who feels like blowing money on the best restaurant experience there is. This place deserves the 5 stars. It was truly an unbelievable experience.

Delicious! We started off with a soup and salad, my husband getting the lobster bisque and I getting the Cesar salad. He had the lamb and I had the filet. The filet was so tender and the cook was absolutely perfect. I had a two bites of his and it was delicious also. The service was fabulous too. One thing that I wasn’t crazy about was the loud atmosphere, however, we sat directly in the middle of a restaurant on a Friday night, so I’m sure that given those circumstances, that won’t be everyone’s experience. I would recommend it if you’re looking for good American cuisine.

One of the best meals I have had in a LONG time! Not one course was a let down. The meal is not cheap, but I felt the price was reasonable for the quality of food I was served. The waitress was incredible, and her recommendations were spot on! Highly recommended! Don't leave without trying the cheesecake!!!
