Loved going to Ritters when I lived in Da Burgh, chowing down on the gyros and playing the tableside juke boxes! Not ‘retro’, a real 1950s era diner!

If you like diner food, you will love Ritter's. The food is good, they have an extensive menu and the service is great. Take note, though. They do not take credit cards. There is an ATM on-site, though.

Was recommended to us from the staff at the Family House while my son was in town for a his 6 week chemo treatment. The food was fantastic, the service was ok, the atmosphere was like that of an old retro dine, small and quaint. the customers were very friendly. Our server was a little slow didn't keep asking us how everything was . This place is cash ONLY!!!!!

I really love the energy of Ritter's on a Sunday morning. It is really packed, but the staff do an amazing job getting everyone seated and fed. I had pancakes and sausages that were amazing and inexpensive. I have also had omelettes and home fries during other visitations that have been great. Overall Ritter's has an amazing atmosphere, great food, and impeccable service. One of my favorite places to meet friends for brunch.

We were recommended this diner and it was the best experience ever!
Staff were excellent , really friendly and helpful with things to do in Pittsburgh as we had just arrived.
Food was AMAZING! We ordered the pancakes- banana with choc chip (yummy!) smores ( yummy!) and choco loco( yum)
Didn’t cost too much and really great atmosphere. Best meal ever since arriving! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

A very small family run business. They have great food and a nice old school feel. This business is CASH ONLY. We didn't know that until we entered. Would recommend if you are in the area. Great food and service.

Great breakfast and great prices. They use real cheese and the potatoes were nicely crisped and not greasy. Good coffee too. By the way, why is diner coffee usually better than super, extremely bitter, sour coffee house coffee? I don’t get that.

Barbara was AMAZING. They only take cash and they are very well priced. I had the steak gyro and my fiancee had the mushroom Swiss burgers. Both were fantastic and the mashed potatoes were spot on. Root beer floats are good. I honestly had a 💯 amazing experience. It was a nice reprieve from sitting in the family lounge at the hospital and it is in walking distance of Shady Side hospital. 10000/10 recommend.

Good spot overall. Being cash only is a little inconvenient but gives the restaurant an old time feel. Menu has good variety and great prices. It's sometimes difficult to order over the phone. I've been put on hold a few times in a row.
