Siempre Algo

Service and ambiance is lovely at Siempre Algo. Parking is easy as well. I enjoyed my soup and salad here however, my fish dish was a bit of a strange combination of potato and nuts as accompaniments. It didn’t really flow and I wasn’t a fan but I suppose that may just be my taste. Everything else was great and I’d like to return.

If you are a foody, this place wins. Atmosphere and service, this place wins. Best place in Pittsburgh let alone the block. Algo wins on every level! Highlight- off menu mushroom and flower appetizer that the bartender recommended. Super rich, savory and unexpected. Dessert was an olive oil cake. Never had one. Will eat every time given the chance! Go for creative delicious cocktails, amazing entrees, novel and surprising appetizers/desserts, and warmly hospitable service!

So delicious! I was worried about options for allergies but was pleasantly surprised. My husband loved the halibut and said the silantro lemongrass broth was delicious. The mushrooms and asparagus was an amazing dish. The lobster mushrooms really tasted like lobster, amazing flavors! The baba ganoush with crudites and baguette was a tasty starter too. I usually have to skip dessert but they had the best rhubarb and hibiscus that was a perfect finish.

This place is really incredible. The "To the T" cocktail I had was delicious. I was here for my birthday dinner and it was such a great experience from start to finish. Ordered the veal sweetbreads and they were out of this world - I really recommend taking the chance to try them. My family ordered the tilefish and the porchetta also pictured. This place is a gem, check it out!

10:17 4 Wow! Went to Siempre Algo on a Friday evening with reservations at 5:30. While most Pittsburghers know that East Ohio Street could use a facelift, once inside Siempre Algo you are transported! Our experience started earlier that day when Grant, who was also our waiter, called to confirm the reservation and ask if we needed anything to improve our evening. Upon our arrival we were promptly greeted and seated and served a welcome glass of bubbles to begin our celebration! Our 4 course meal began with Duck Rillettes. Fantastic and savory with stacked flavor profiles that challenge and compliment the buttery duck which spreads smoothly onto one of the best baguettes that I have had! Tilefish Ceviche was a beautiful presentation that explodes with flavor that builds in intensity of flavor, texture, and crunch! This is where Grant was tested to find a white wine pairing for this Ceviche and he did not disappoint! Grant nailed the pairing with a herbal Sauvignon Blanc that complimented every flavor in this dish! Tasted all 3 entrees: PORCHETTA without the right chef pork belly is a risk and can be under done and fatty. This was neither! The entire dish was perfectly balance in taste, texture, brightness and flavor! Sweetbreads, this earthy dish was cooked so perfectly that our 16 year old cleaned her plate! With the leftover baguette of course! Duck special was served on a bed of mirepoix which tasted like homemade. The perfect medium rare duck had the right amount of rendering so that the skin was crisp and not fatty. There was an added crunch and sweetness of cornbread croutons. Dessert of sweet crepes with nectarines was amazing and sweet with depth present in the preparation of the fruit and the choice of cheeses! Grant was tested once more for a pairing of dessert wine! Grant went 2 for 2 with a Michigan Ice Wine that was fruit forward and tasted like peaches and cream! And I thought I hated ice wine! I guess I just have a regional palette for ice wines! Haha. One of our new favorite places in Pittsburgh. Great menu options. Love the atmosphere, not too big, not too small, romantic lighting. The food was perfect, we tried the monkfish, pork duo and the short ribs. Just the right amount of food. Deserts were good, actually liked the mango sorbet a bit more than the hummingbird cake. Our waitress was kind and attentive. Even put candles in our deserts since we were celebrating a birthday. Will definitely be back.

Such a wonderful Northside restaurant that offers great cocktails and wonderful farm-to-table food. Siempre Algo has limited seating, so making a reservation is your best bet for a table, esp on the weekend. Their cocktail menu has been particularly good lately, with a very inventive and thoughtful bar manager developing the menu. Their food menu has been fairly limited since resuming dine in service, but I expect it will expand soon. Def make sure to try whichever salad is on the menu, as it's always delicious and typically has many ingredients from their own rooftop garden. And don't skip dessert here or you'll miss out on some of the best desserts I've had in years, including their salted caramel bourbon ice cream. Trust me, it's amazing. Enjoy!
