Picasso's Italian Restaurant

We randomly stopped to eat here as we were house-hunting in the area and were really impressed. We've since returned several times, as well as taken advantage of their delivery service. The restaurant is family-friendly and the owners / waitstaff are so kind to our little ones, even going out of their way to bring extra green beans without being asked when they overhead how much my youngest child loved them. The pizzas are great and are our first choice for delivery pizza. They're clearly made with fresh ingredients and aren't greasy. The food dining in has been great, and I have been especially impressed with some of the dishes with stuffed chicken (Chicken Rollatine, I think?). The veggies are also fresh and tasty, as well as the soups we've tried. Our family has always found the service here to be warm, friendly, and very attentive. I believe it is a family-run establishment. We hope to enjoy many future meals at what has become our go-to Italian restaurant in Plano! Review written in Nov. 2015.

We happened upon this place on a Monday evening since all the other small Italian places we knew were closed. We were greated and seated quickly. The bread was soft and warm, and they have a great garlic olive oil. We ate the caprese app which was very good and was enough for our party of 4. The pizza was amazing, crispy but not burned crust. Everything tasted very fresh and was delicious. Our service was great and the manager/owner visited our table 2 or 3 times and was very friendly. It has the feel of an authentic, Italian family restaurant. Definitely recommend!

I never write reviews, but felt the need to this time around. We came here frequently years ago at their previous location, so decided it would be a fit place for a nice dinner. We arrived to a fairly vacant restaurant, but ended up waiting for 15 minutes just to be seated, despite that there were only two other families there. We were ready to order and had finally gotten the single server's attention, only to find out that 2 of the 4 dishes we wanted "could not be made at this time". When asked why, she vaguely explained and did not try to offer any alternatives. Not to mention the half-ass, lackadaisical demeanor and quite frankly rude attitude she portrayed throughout the night, our food came out varying from severely undercooked to ridiculously overcooked. Throughout the duration of this, the server was busy with her own family at the bar and paid minimal to no attention to her *two* tables. Atrocious service, below average food, but mostly disappointment in extreme decline of a restaurant we used to frequent.

I used to work nearby and often had lunch here. The wait staff was family. Max and Mama, sons and daughters and in laws all working. I never had a problem at lunchtime and the food is consistently excellent and freshly prepared-even home made bread made twice daily! The specials are fast and the appetizers totally fabulous, especially jumbo shrimp scampi (goes well with bruschetta). I give them great ratings and I'd go more often if I still worked or lived nearby but I do luncheons there sometimes. Puts Campisis in cement shoes every time. there's a reason its always crowded at night... don't miss the Italian cream cake!

First and foremost, this was the worst customer experience service my family and friends had since I arrived into Texas. We arrived at Picasso's with several of my guests to conduct a business meeting. While we were waiting for our remaining guests, the owner/manager, acting as a server, less than half-heartedly asked us if we wanted something to drink. We asked her to give us a few as we were waiting for more people to arrive. Immediately, we felt unwelcomed as this woman acted as if we were a bother in her establishment and didn't want our money as people of color. Anyway, the rest of our party arrived, which, at time, our party was people of different races. The owner/manager came back and took our order for drinks and returned them while talking on her phone. Basically, talking all in the drinks. Yuck. She reluctantly took our order. We waited 20 minutes and our food came out cold for all 8 people...awful. My wife politely let the owner/manager aware of the food temp and she immediately answered saying, "The chef just took items out of the fire!" The owner was angry and snatched the food from my wife. The bad part...she warmed or reheated the food in the microwave and gave it back to us. Don't worry people...it gets worse. We decided to conduct our meeting and eat the extremely less than warm food with the horrible customer service. Now, how we knew this woman was a racist you ask...well, all the customers, which was not much, who was there she was extremely warm and friendly. Matter-of-fact, she sat down and ate a meal with one of the guest while ignoring us as if we were a problem. OK, paying was a problem too. Can u believe this..? We asked for the check and tried to pay and waited 20 minutes to just clear the check. Outrageous! She catered to the white guests and forgot or just didn't care to take care of us (which was majority black). Anyway, we finally paid for the horrible food, drinks, and sorry service. My business guests was insulted because we just came from a place that recommended Picasso's to hold our meetings. Well, we didn't complain, but since the owner/manager was so nasty...her tip was a penny. We got home from our visit and we got sick from the food that was out of temp. Foodies...and if your a person of color...don't go to this place...not worth it. Go to Olive Garden or macaroni grill. At least with these establishments...the service would have been professional, with a smile, and hot food that doesn't make you sick.

So my family and I had just had a horrible experience at the sushi place next door. We decided to grab a pizza to go instead. Walking in the atmosphere is nice, it's a typical italian joint. The women that helped us, at first seemed nicish. We were asking about their delivery radius, since we live 2.8 miles away. Instead of answering us with a yes or no, she proceeded to argue with us about the distance of our place from the restaurant. All I wanted was a yes or a no, and what I recieved was a vauge up in the air google maps conversation. We ordered two pizzas, when I gave her my name, she corrected my pronunciation of it....that was a bit of the last straw for me. We waited awhile for our food with a fussy tired baby and it took us 6 minutes to get home. When opening the box toppings were non existent and the pizza was rock hard cold. I'm not a review writing type customer....but if I could give a negative star I would. Rude waitstaff, and cold pizza, eat there at your own risk.

Ordered spaghetti two orders. The meal was bland nothing like you might expect from an Italian restaurant. The sauce was thin, no seasoning, not much sauce also. No onion, or other flavoring. Meat balls Hugh, bland, no flavor, like cardboard. I understand why there was only one other table with customers. I ordered spaghetti thinking that would be a dish they would do up fine. Could not have been more wrong
