Jb's Fish & Chips

Fantastic place! Based not too far away in Basingstoke and had a beach day out on the Jurrasic Coast. Decided to pop in driving back home. Tasty fish and chips fried with proper animal fat/beef dripping the way people fried hundreds of years ago when vegetable seed oils did not exist. Would recommend to anyone driving past Poole! Would definitely be coming back as it is hard to find places that still fry in beef tallow. Keep it up guys! Ah and the mushy peas were banging.

Went to JBs for the first time this evening. Was just passing and fancied fish and chips. Once we paid we were waiting a little while but the owners were great and gave my little girl a free fruit shoot. We got the food just after but it was worth the wait. I realised that they cooked our order from fresh so there would of been a slight wait. Best take out from a fish and chips shop that I can remember and we will definitely be going back. Thank you! Keep up the good work JBs. P.S - try their curry sauce and chilli mayo. Great sauces.

Amazing to have a full vegan selection! We tried the Quorn Sausage, Richmond Sausage, Tofish and vegan chips. The animal menu is cooked in beef fat, but there is a separate fryer with rapeseed oil for the vegan menu so no contamination! The food was awesome. Tasty, yummy batter and the nori really gave the Tofish a great fishy flavour. The chips were good and it was such a treat to be able to go to a chip shop and have options. Thank you for catering to your meat free customers- amazing!

Vegan fish and chips takeaway recommended by locals! We ordered the vegan banana blossom, vegan fried chips, and "moving mountain" burger with vegan tartare sauce. All tasted great. The super friendly owner was very interested and keen to discuss plant based menu, while they're also making an effort in using rapeseed oil rather than palm oil. We heard the tofu option is great as well, trust them as your plant based chippy! Free parking available outside, ~ £20 for 2.

Absolutely LOVE JB's for having a great vegan menu! 🌱 We ordered basically everything to try for our first time. The battered sausage, tofish and chips were delicious. Found that the pea fritter and banana blossom fish were nice, but a bit too plain. Would definitely order again, so good to have this option for a yummy takeaway. 🍴
