Took some friends that were visiting from Canada here. There's nothing else like this barrel house in the area for sours. Wow so much flavor! We've fallen in love with the watermelon and ginger+lime sours.

Cascade Brewing is always a stop when we visit Portland. Our favourite sour brewery. Not too busy on a Friday evening, our server was very friendly. Shared a couple 2oz pours ($3.50 USD); the dapper plum, vladermelon, blackcap nouveau 2023 and apricot 2019. Apricot is always tasty. Blackcap nouveau (raspberries) was juicy. Vladermelon tasted like watermelon jolly ranchers. They had 30% off all bottles and cans for Black Friday. Bought a pearpawsterous 2017 ($24.00 USD) but was charged full price.

Before we visit our number 1 spot, our bonus pick is the Cascade Brewing Barrel House. Narrowing down a top 5 list was hard considering the amount of amazing beers in and around Portland, but we would be doing you a disservice not to mention a brewery we’ve been drinking from since 2014! For those of you unfamiliar with Cascade, their sour beers rival your global favorites. We had their Kagua Sour from 2018, a collab with Far Yeast Brewing of Japan, and it was such a unique experience. The beer is a blend of sansho pepper, yuzu and citrus aged in red wine barrels. The Cascade Brewing Barrel House has a constant tap and bottle rotation will leave you hungry for more. @beerventurers

Their sours are so good! Unique and flavorful. They also do 8, 4 and 2 oz pours so you can really try a lot of stuff without drinking or spending too much.

I love their sours, and I never get tired of Honey Ginger Lime. The music is at just the right volume you can still have a good conversation. Obviously parking can be scarce on a weekend evening. Each time I go I’m reminded why they’re on my short list of favorites.

Great brews on tap they have a handful of sour beers. While I'm not typically a not fan of sour beers, the ones I tried here really hit the spot. During my visit, there was a hiccup that was beyond the brewery's control, but the staff was super friendly and it all ended well. I’m visiting from out of town (Los Angeles) and would definitely come back again.

Ah! I have heard about this place from my partner for almost 2yrs. On a wham during labor day weekend, I surprised him with an Airbnb and car full of gas and asked him to take me to this place before he left for MN. We had a place. Went twice in one weekend. The sours are amazing, everything is amazing, I'm all about the dark beer, so I had amazing options! Thank you to Danielle for being our go to human who worked here-she is knowledgeable and just really kind, it was a treat meeting her. Thank you to all humans who work here- you made saying goodbye to my partner a beautiful experience. This is his favorite brewery (and he knows ATON all over the world) and now I hold space for him here. Thank you!!!

Cascade Barrel house is a great brewery! If you love sours and aged beers, this is the best place in town! The atmosphere is great and service is always solid. We don’t come here often but are always happy with it. The have tons of outdoor seating and heaters to keep you warm year round.

Famous for their sour ale in S.Korea. But they have other things too. I tried 7~8 2 ozs with mac n cheese and chicken sandwich. I planned to move to another brewery but changed my mind. Try their sour ales. I recommend them.
