Hawthorne Hophouse

What a great place! My boyfriend and I stopped in by chance on our travels through Portland from Toronto and were not disappointed. We couldn’t have found a better spot for our first night here. On top of the great food and beer, Austin gave us some great suggestions on things that we should do while in Portland. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good food and beer!

Lots of delicious food options & beers on tap, customer service was wonderful. We ordered some happy hour eats; soup/ Mac & cheese, +jumbo slider is like a burger + pepper jack sticks. Everything was tasty, we had a wonderful time. + Thursday’s they have live music performances 🙌🏻 & everyday they have some fun event going on.

Probably my favorite place in Portland. Great beer selection on tap at a reasonable price, as well as good food options to pair with your drink. The burgers are juicy, the sweet & spicy chicken tenders are amazing. The staff is very kind, attentive, and helpful, and they recently changed ownership so the new owners have some good things planned. Saturday & Sunday night they had live music which was surprisingly good. Look forward to coming here again!

Swung by yesterday afternoon for a veggie burger, and it definitely didn't disappoint. Staff was super chill and friendly, offering us a breakdown of the place, their menu/specials, etc (although three people came and approached us consecutively, which was a bit confusing.) Ended up grabbing a Hawhorne Burger with a veggie patty and sweet potato fries. Everything was super delicious, especially the fries. For those in the brewery scene, this is your good place. Tons of local brews on tap which seemed pretty cool.

The food is great, and I've been there like 3 times in the past week just for the fries. They have a wide and changing selection of the best local beers, giving local businesses a chance. The new owners are also very engaged and dedicated to improving the place ... the girl's bathroom wall says they're hot too.

Excellent experience all-around! Attractive, open, and airy layout with patio seating. Great taplist with much appreciated variety aside from the ever-popular IPA's I'm starting to hate nowadays. The happy hour food options were decent and all tasted on par with what I wanted. Our server named Shelby, I believe, with a purple/pink fauhawk was simply awesome, promptly replenishing​ drinks and regularly checking in on us. The habenero fizzy wine was well suggested and amazingly refreshing, as was the choctabulous stout. Thanks a million! Will definitely see you all again! Best, ~S
