Roadside Attraction

Total hidden little gem that I just wandered into. One second you're walking through a residential neighborhood mid block, next you wander through the beautiful garden patio with wooden picnic benches for a couple of pints. Super friendly staff, great atmosphere. Definitely feels like a local's gem. Stop by for a drink, bring cash.

A Roadside Attraction is attractive in many ways-- a low-key neighborhood bar come Tiki Bar come Goodwill come Chinese-restaurant-aesthetic? All of the above. One of the coolest, most eclectic bars in PDX with that old-school lived-in feel. Ample smoking room in the front, toney piano in the back. Cash only, but there's an ATM with an excellently low $1.50 service fee in one of the hidden nooks of the bar.

In a city filled with the best food and coolest bars -- this is my favorite bar. I am hoping and praying it's able to reopen in the future. It's hard to say why it's the best place in Portland...if you're looking for something out of the ordinary, then this place is for you. True to it's name it's got sights to see, and is technically on the side of a road. Enjoy some drinks & food, play a round of pool, hang out at the outside tables, squeeze onto the patio swing with a couple friends, choose your favorite track on the jukebox, cheers with some strangers, sit in thrones, sit in booths, sit at barstools, enjoy some clutch mood lighting, look at all of the wall art and trinkets, and repeat. p.s. It's cash only, there is an ATM though in case you forget :) *UPDATE: IT’S OPEN!

Such a good spot! Cash Only. Good food and drinks. Eclectic, cozy space with nooks that are more private to bigger spaces to gather. Outdoor patio feels like someones backyard. A must stop-in when in the area or visiting from out of town! Prawns and Mac n Cheese were delicious... Next time I'm getting it with extra sauce!
