Zarz On First

My husband and I ate at this place last night(4/12/18). The food was AMAZING!! We had the deviled eggs with BACON!! They were pretty good (I love eggs though, so i don’t think you should take my word too much) and the wings. They were great as well! I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was great! the outside was nice and crispy and the inside was hot and flaky. I had this garlic sauce that was meant for the the fish but I chose to dip my fries in it. The best meal I’ve had in a while. My husband had a burger and it was good as well. The food prices are very reasonable! We were not a fan of the drinks(I like mine stiff, not stiff here). That won’t stop me from coming back to this place though.

Pretty populated at Happy Hour - kind of patronage one would expect on a Friday evening in downtown Portland. Duo combo doing unintrusive blues. They knock of a buck on drafts for HH, but not for non-tap. The taps stout selection was a bit too stout for me, so I ordered a Guiness. Was disappointed upon delivery to learn it was in a can...but so be it. Got the soup, which was the darkest, stew-like chicken noodle I've ever had - but flavor-rich; and the rueben, which was NOT NYC Times Square deli, the saurkraut not very krauty & the beef a little charred & dry, but also flavorful. Kind of a pleasant surprise. Reasonably priced. Hip ambiance. On the Blue Line. I'll be back.
