Red E Cafe

The barista was kind and knowledgeable, even taking the time to redo my espresso a couple times when it wasn’t pulling satisfactorily. The espresso tasted great. The shop space is large, with plenty of tables that would be well suited to working at, but there’s also some couches and bar seating at the front window that’s nice for watching things happening outside.

this is my favorite coffee shop! they have coffee soda on tap, which is so refreshing and delicious. Another great drink is their habanero honey latte - the kick at the end is so satisfying. My partner also really likes their hopped cascara soda. If you're a beer drinker or just like hops, this is a great NA drink for the summer. They also have really delicious pastries. I love this place!

Portland is full of tons of small independent coffee shops, and I've been to many of them, but Red E is easily my absolute favorite. It checks every box for what I feel makes a great coffee shop. The atmosphere is relaxing, inclusive, and welcoming, with pieces by local artists (which are available to purchase if one really speaks to you!), cozy seating, two chess tables, and a quiet, laid back vibe. The food is delicious, and they have awesome breakfast sandwiches, including vegetarian options! This was especially exciting for me, because I nearly never find those, and when I do they're usually very basic. But Red E has more than one vegetarian sandwich, and they're amazing! The staff is super friendly, and remembered me on my second visit. And of course, most importantly, the coffee and teas are so so SO good. Their seasonal drinks are to die for. It's a great day for me when I get to head out there on the weekend and sit back with a honey cardamom latte and a Catch Up sandwich, and grab a rad button on the way out for my collection. To make a (very) long story short, Red E is a must-try, and guaranteed to brighten your day.
