Tacovore

Ahhh Tacovore. Portland has a lot of tacos shops around town. Tacovore stands above them in my opinion- they’re super creative in their tacos and ingredients but not “creative” in a bad way. Whoever is putting their tacos together has excellent taste. Today I had 3 different tacos (I like mine without Crema and other superfluous stuff like soap cilantro) but all my friends got theirs without modifications. They’re all so good. We’ve been here quite a few times - probably once every two months for the last few years and their quality is amazing. Also, the service and location are great. The staff are always so nice. They’re super speedy too. Great drinks - from beer to cocktails. There’s lots of space inside and out with convenient bike parking right outside. If you’re lucky another guest will bring a super cute dog. This place is rad. Go eat here.

Family friendly, deliciously fresh tacos (with "carnivore" and "herbivore" specials along with the usual options), a small but well curated tap list, tasty margaritas, and delightful non alcoholic drink options. Order at the corner of the bar before grabbing a table, then order at the other end of the bar if you need more later. Someday I'll have the taco salad - it looks ginormous. Generally two tacos are enough for an adult to feel well fed. The moderna bowl is a good filling option (can be zhuzhed with additional proteins), and currently the seasonal ceviche is perfect for a hot summer day. Group seating could be tricky if it's busy, but we've not had any issues so far (when we recently met up for happy hour with our group of seven).

A restaurant has to be pretty good for me to like it to write a review after I have to order at the counter, and especially after I've bussed my own table. (I usually go out to eat bc I want to sit down and do nothing but eat, so the extra responsibility can detract from my overall enjoyment of the experience). Tacovore is that good though. Service was unflaggingly friendly, food was shockingly delicious and surprisingly filling. Highly recommend. 100% will return.
