Fandango Restaurant & Cantina

From reading the reviews, I wonder if this place is different on weekends or at night? Some other change? First, the staff was very nice to us, no problem there. The place had a very comfortable feel. We had a long and hot day. We needed a little refreshment, honestly desperate for a sizeable margarita. The margaritas are on the large side, that's true, and the flavor was quite lovely, but I'm not sure they contained $10 of tequila. But I probably wouldn't even trip over that if the food had been more than alright. We had doubts over a $15 burrito or $14 enchiladas. I decided to test out the meat the only way I know before risking higher dollar amounts. So two of us got tacos, steak (asada) and pork (pastor). The consensus was disappointing. Later, we were finally able to sum up the tacos. It exactly resembled food made by somebody who doesn't care about what they're making. The streak was odd. My guess is that it was reheated too often, and/or it was cooked in too much oil. If I can't trust a place to make a simple taco, then I'm not risking enchiladas, a burrito, or anything else at any price above "discount." My stomach is truly stronger than my wallet. Back to the positives. It's worth saying again that the staff were so nice to us, friendly and even sweet. I'd assume the management and owners are friendly, very cool people as well. The staff made such a good impression that my rating may need to be 3 stars. It's also true that they were prompt with everything. It was a slow time of day, but the attentiveness was noticeable. That's not too common. There are some likable, even lovable parts of this restaurant and club. I'm very curious about the music and dancing there at night.
