Bambam Bakery

Bam Bam’s is amazing! We drive from Hampton NH to Portland to stock up on their Honey Oat bread. It makes the best toast you’ve ever tasted! My husband has a gluten intolerance and we’ve tried all the different brand’s the stores offer. Some are okay, some are awful/tasteless. It is worth the drive. We buy 7 or 8 loaves at a time, slice them and freeze them. While we’re there, we also indulge in their many amazing pastries! My absolute favorite are the lemon squares, best you’ve ever tasted! My husband’s favorite are the whoopie pies, also amazing! Whether you can only eat gluten free or not, it doesn’t matter. Still the best bakery!

Bam Bam is a great bakery-even if you don't have issues with gluten! Our family does have dietary restrictions due to being vegan and gluten free but the cakes and pastries are delicious and you'd never know they were- in some cases- both dairy and gluten free. Tina and her crew go above and beyond in their commitment to high quality, flavorful ingredients. I highly recommend you give Bam Bam a try. You won't regret it! Signed: Paul Lipman

April 8th 2022, I called to order a cake. I had called for about 2 hours on and off with no luck so I decided to go in-person on my work break. I got there and realized it was only one gal working so I can understand not getting to the phone. In today's world, it is very understandable. I met with the gal and explained what I was looking for. She took my order and said I'd be able to pick up my birthday cake for Sunday, April 10th. It was my mom's 60th birthday so I wanted to get something she could enjoy, as well as other family members with a food allergy. My other half went to pick up the cake and she was still frosting it Sunday morning. She did a flash freeze and said it would be OK for travel. 2 hours after driving and bringing the cake inside, open to box to find the cake had split in the middle and came apart in 3 ways on the top and basically melted off the middle layer of frosting. I was heartbroken. I wanted to surprise my mom and it was ruined. There was way more frosting than there was cake. The cake molded from the inside within 7 days. I was honestly shocked how fast it molded. I had also ordered some cookies and macaroons and the macarons were not fully cooked. Not sure if I'd be going back again. When they were on commercial street, never had any issues like this. Tried to call to talk to the owner but now they are temporarily closed, so I'll leave my review here.

Great food and decent coffee. Has a wonderful atmosphere as well. Everything is gluten free and what I had (breakfast cake) was outstanding. The thing holding my review back from 5 stars is the service. My girlfriend and I were looking at the spread and the girl behind the counter just glared at us impatiently. Never asked if she could help us or if we had any questions just made it feel like we needed to hurry up and make a decision. From other reviews this is something they need to work on. Their food is on point and I'd definitely recommend it for that. Some of the best gluten free options I've ever had!

I love bam bam. If no one else appreciate them I do! Why because they restored confidence in eating deliciously made items for a balance of gluten and dairy free which I AM..I have choices lots of them!.. never disappointed.. believe me when I said I HAVE followed them around! And will do it again!!! All the way from MASS!!!!!

I absolutely love coming here when I'm in the Portland area. I always treat myself to a large box of goodies when I'm there. As a human who can only eat gluten free this place is heaven. Literally everything here is gluten-free and it's not just desserts! When I have gone they always have different options for pizza a hot food item like macaroni and cheese or chicken pot pie and also loaves of bread for sale! They have a great selection of coffee as well from ice too hot to lattes and espresso! They have some nice tables chairs and couches if you want to sit and eat! I always buy enough to bring home and Freeze and everything I've ever Frozen before has always tasted delicious later on!
