We went to N to Tail for the Korean BBQ experience. The food and portions were good! The atmosphere was a bit strange— dark, smokey, dungeon-like— like it was an old night club or something. The service was good, but super Americanized. It was good, but just not what I expected. We likely won’t do the BBQ again as it is certainly more of an “experience” than a a genuinely good meal. I would go back, but sit upstairs to try some of their other dishes!

we tried the lobster jumokbap, the beef bimimbap, pork dumplings, and Korean fried chicken. Everything was incredible! I already want to go back. The cocktail menu is creative, and the art in the dining area was cool to look at.

We had a great dinner full of delicious small plates. Everything was delightful and we enjoyed the atmosphere as well. We dined in the bar area. The lower level (BBQ area) was hopping also. Will try that area next time! Definitely check this restaurant out!

A wonderful experience, especially for first-time goers! We ordered the BBQ “Date Night,” which easily fed my partner and me. The rib-eye was some of the best we had, and the sides added so much depth to the meal. The mean includes Kimchi, bean sprout salad, rice, potatoes, and much more to create a wrap as you finish cooking. Definitely worth the price!

Amazing amazing food, beverages, and service from Christian! We shared bao buns, dumplings, spicy chicken soup, sprouts, and kimchi pancakes. Everything was prepared to perfection. A must when visiting Portland!

There are 2 sections of the restaurant, the Korean BBQ section downstairs which is a fun experience for a date or a group of friends. The upstairs section is your classic "sit down and order off the menu" setup. Their food is awesome. Everyone I take here always asks when we can go back. Highly highly recommend the fried chicken bao buns if they are on the menu, but everything else I've had there has been delicious. One of the most underrated restaurants in Portland.

Delicious food, fun atmosphere, excellent service! I am so happy we made reservations for the bbq grill. Not a typical Korean bbq experience, but that’s okay because it was delicious af. We ordered 3 types of high quality beef that only needed to be slightly seared… what succulent cuts of meat!! The kimchi, bean sprout salad, fried chicken, and cucumber salad were excellent additions to our meal. Our server was attentive and my hot sake never ran dry. We will definitely be back!!

My boyfriend and I were on the hunt for a dinner place in Portland. Luckily, we walked by and smelled the food coming from N to Tail. I grew up in the area and knew it has a slightly overpriced Japanese restaurant called Fuji, and we had been to N to Tail before but we were not impressed. This time everything exceeded our expectations: the staff, food, and overall feeling of the restaurant were great. There are a lot of small plates, some larger plates and some entrees to choose from. Based on everything we got you couldn't go wrong with anything you decided to order. The drink menu was a good size and there are some vegetarian options but it's definitely meat and fish heavy, although you could potentially ask about substitutions. We got the raw tuna, bok choy with tofu, spicy cucumber and fried eggplant. We then ordered the vegetable bibimbap and dak galbi, and everything tasted amazingly delicious. I'm so glad they're still around and I highly recommend trying it!
