A hidden gem on Congress. It's a basement lounge/bar but has some amazing cocktails and yummy bar eats. They also have a full meal menu during the dinner hours. Service is swift and friendly. The space is definitely darker and basement like but has lots of charm and plenty of elbow room. You also won't find it to be too loud or obnoxiously chaotic. I love this place so much.

The food was great, the service perfect, but what really sells it is the atmosphere. It literally feels like a hole in the wall that you'd go to to escape from the world. If you go to Portland you need to check this place out.

My partner and I visited Portland for the first time and stumbled into this place on our first night. We ran through the appetizer menu pairing it with exquisite martinis, crisp beers and phenomenal whisky from the extensive selection. A power cut Could not dampen our experience. If underground speakeasy style bars are your thing, look no further. We returned the following night as well.

This bar is truly a speakeasy. Many places throw that word around in their marketing, but the look and feel of Bramhall is truly a speakeasy. I went here as a last stop on a night out in Portland. The drinks were all well made. I had one of their rotating drafts, a shot, and a cocktail. All of which met my expectations. On top of this, the prices were reasonable. Had I been in Portland for more time, I would have stopped by on another night.

I loved this place so much I went two nights in row. They have excellent cocktails and service. The atmosphere is friendly and low key, but also kind of dark and hidden away, like a Cheers and speakeasy mashup, but the lights are high enough that you can see but you don't have to become friends with everyone if you don't want to. Both the indoor and outdoor seating are lovely.

This place was found on a whim. Everything was booked so I found this and it was so cool. Reasonable prices for the food quality. The chicken hearts were amazing...never thought I'd say that. It was 173 without tip for 2 apps, 3 main entrees, 1 almond cake dessert, 2 bourbons, and 5 other beers. Price was incredible for all that we had.

Service was terrible.
Stopped in with two others to get some drinks and food before a show at the state theater, ended up waiting almost 2 hours and missing a good portion of our show, only for one of the staff to tell us that “they’re really sorry but they don’t see our food happening tonight”. Listen I get it, you had a big party rent out the whole patio. I understand the struggles of sudden large parties for a kitchen, but letting us know that food would take a while before we ordered, and not actively avoiding my party, and continuously lying to us that it would “be right out“ and “out in two minutes” for hours, would have gone a long way.
Thanks for the free club soda and waste of two hours.

Great atmosphere, with a wonderful liquor selection and a knowledgeable hip staff. You are bound to have a good time and meet some beautiful strangers.
