Visited this place for a lunch. We were welcomed by the owner. They serve authentic Kerala food. Unlike other Kerala restaurants in the town they serve only Kerala food which is their USP and liked it. Tried veg thali there along with kerala chicken curry, fish curry and Kerala paratha. Thali consists of special kind of a rice like brown rice which was good in taste along with sambar and rassam. But it depends on individual, if you like rice in meal then it will be good for you. Kerala chicken curry was tasty, chicken was juicy and fresh. Fish curry was amazing in taste. Dessert was worth mentioning. It contained a preparation of jaggery. Taste was very nice. Ambiance is simple and decent with seating of 4 or 5 tables. All walls are full of pictures of Kerala tradition. The entrance door is worth mentioning. Overall, very nice experience of Kerala food. One of the best Kerala cuisine in town I must say. Must try if you want to try authentic Kerala food in Pune.

Today I got the opportunity to have the traditional Sadhya at Malabar Express, Salunkhe Vihar. 20 plus items were served. This consists of rice, banana chips, sambar, rasam, a few curries, pickle, papadams, buttermilk and a generous serving of the payasam. Don't ask the names. I just enjoyed the meal getting my hands dirty. Started with salt and ended with payasam. A blissful meal it was!!

A 4 for an authentic Kerala style restaurant of it's type, a small cafe on salunke vihar road. The varieties of dosa and the sambar and chutny with it is what makes it different.I started with chocolate dosa which was surprisingly good. The idli sambar, I did not like it as much as it was mashed into the sambar. The chicken and boiled egg dosa tasted good. Sambar is yumm and you would want to have more, not the usual sweet one. Coconut chutney is also good. The way dosa was served on banana leaf also gave the Kerala feel! Ambience- they need to have an inverter and AC. It was too hot inside, the interiors are ok.

Well I can name this place as MINI KERALA IN PUNE. one of the most important aspects of Restaurants is it hospitality and really this place has won my heart by their humbleness. the AMBIENCE is not too big but is very clean . I believe they have been focusing more on the taste and quantity. They Serve Quantity which can satisfies once hunger. if you are in look for some kerala delicacy do drop here. Best Kerala restaurant in Pune. Authentic malayali food. Place is a bit small but has got quite an ambience to it. They always play good Malayalam melodies of 80s-90s. friendly staff, waiting time is usually less. My favourites include Puttu which comes with pappadam ;) and beef roast. Kappa is superb. Appam and porotta tastes like home made.
