We landed here 'coz this place got covered in Pune Mirror as one of the 4 oldest places serving Misal in Pune. The location Just follow Google maps and when you are about 10-20 metres away, ask a bystander. As this is a corner shop , u might miss it if you're in a vehicle. This is a 2 storeyed place with no seating on the ground floor. So when u first look at the place from outside, it may seem that the restaurant isn't open. So simply go upstairs and u will find the serving and seating area. Parking If you are in a two wheeler, u will find parking in the narrow lane opposite the restaurant. As we went in the morning, we found sufficient parking for easily 10 two wheelers The ambience We visited the place at around 7:45 in the morning. We were greeted by a very peaceful ambience. The seating is arranged in such a way that not more than 2 guests can sit together. That automatically controls the decibel levels. Plus the owners and staff have defined the processes the ordering, reordering, billing and table cleaning so well, there is hardly any room for confusion. 4 words to sum up the ambience - quiet, homely, efficient and clean. The food They serve 4 items primarily : 1) Misal + 2 slices of bread ( pohe misal) 2) Rava sheera 3) Kanda bhaji ( half or full plate option) 4) Curd The remaining items ( Kanda Poha and Taak) are derived from the above list. We loved the misal! It was not spicy but yet it was refreshingly different and flavourful. Easily could have been made by a friend's aaji at home. As this was Pohe Misal, there was no matki in it. Light on stomach and a wholesome hearty plate of food ❤️ The taak was simple , lightly salted with no condiments or herbs. The Kanda bhaaji was crispy outside n soft inside. Your teeth simply sinks into them. The sheera was nice. Not diabetic sweet! Special mentions : As soon as u enter the place, u find a wall where washed Chitale milk bags are neatly arranged in a rectangle. It felt so good to see that and realize that they don't just dump their waste in bins but carefully send them to the recyclers. The slices of bread used are not from the run of mill Wibbs or Britannias of the world. They are freshly baked at a local bakery and delivered without any packaging this generating zero packaging waste ❤️ All in all, this cozy place won our hearts and earned its place among our top places to visit in Pune for misal.

Shri Krishna Bhuvan is one of the oldest and most well known misal joints in Pune. It serves 'Puneri' misal with a sweetish coconut based rassa and bread slices. The misal has a minimalist approach, using a potato and poha base with Sev and onion. If you are a Misal fan who likes to try out different flavours, then this is a must visit place. If you like spicy misal with floating 'tarri'/'kat', then this isn't the place for it. This is a pre-paid self service place, so it helps to order, pay and take all you want so that your meal is uninterrupted. The Gol bhaji (pakoras) were nice. The buttermilk could have been less watery.

I visited this place after so much hype about the place being the best for Misal. It turned out to be quite mediocre. Some might agree or disagree but my experience wasn't that great. Maybe they have mellowed down the taste to suit to senior citizen's palette but I felt the Misal was quite bland. I had great expectations hoping this would be quite spicy, delectable, but it was forgettable for sure. It might be a different variety of Misal that they served or have been serving for ages, but maybe my palette didn't accept the taste. No offense to anybody who loves this place. I just wanted to have more of it but felt like I was in a hospital canteen.

Shrikrishna Bhuvan is a nice place for snacks, Misal, bhajeeye, Kanda-Pohe, Chivda, Shev, Shev-Chivda and many more items are available here. This shop has been established from 83 years. This is located at the south side of Tulsibaug at the road corner. So delicious taste, clean environment. Table and self service here. First you have to pay for the first time then if you need more then you can pick it from the window and all bills can be paid finally. Misal, Bhajee, Chivda facility provided on the first floor. Also, a parcel facility is available but you should keep your tiffin for tarri liquid. Nice place to go with family, kids, friends etc. Rates are very reasonable.

Another iconic misal join in the city. Limited menu with typical puneri taste.. The misal here is a combination of batata bhaji , pohe and chiwda.. they don't put any lentils or beans in it. There's rassa preparation is different and not at all spicy but lot of coconut and garlic adds flavour to misal.. served along with 2 slices of bread... Well, in Pune misal is served slice bread and not the pav. The butter milk and the cord is made in house and tasty. मराठीत सांगायचं म्हणजे " आदमोरं दही आणि ताक ' 😋😆 Post lockdown the place underwent renovation and has come up nice. All the cutlery and seating is changed to stainless steel.. Usually crowded so anticiapte some waiting time.. PS: it's crowded for take aways in the morning so plan accordingly.. Parking is very difficult to find nearby so take public transport or be prepared to apek away and walk. If you are fan of spicy and oily misal, this place is not for you...
