The Stomping Ground

My fiancee and I do a new restaurant every week as part of our date night routine, and this is honestly the first restaurant/bar we've visited that we are absolutely, wildly certain we'll return to. This place is the real deal. Amazing service, friendly people, and INCREDIBLE food that is abundantly clear was made with care and a the menu a labor of love from those who make it. We didn't break the bank, even with apps, drinks, and entrees, and had plenty of leftovers. The atmosphere is like the basement of your uncle who traveled the world and collected art and knick knacks from everywhere he went, and a small stage in the corner gives space for local artists to add even more energy to the room. Do yourself a HUGE favor and try this place out, you absolutely won't regret it.

Hands down, the best bar trivia night I've ever played. Brian, Simon, and Jon have an infectious hilarity with their banter. Afterwards, they'll rock your socks off with an amazing musical performance. As for the bar, great beer selection that's always bringing in new options. The interior's fun and eclectic, with a massive dragon hanging from the ceiling. There's also live music just about evry night of the week. Overall, the coolest place in town to hang out.

If you love cheese, this is the place for you! If you love eclectic art, this is the place for you! If you love funky, creative cocktails served with enthusiasm and a sparky personality, this is most definitely the place for you. It's not often I give 5 stars, but, this place earned it from "hello"! The vibe is funky and cool and the artwork beyond amazing! Take a few minutes to explore and admire the pieces on the walls and hanging from the ceiling! Nice live blues music on a Tuesday? Are you kidding me? Finally someone knows music lovers go out during the week too! Our server (foolishly forgot her name) doubles as the bartender and was incredible to chat with. We started with drinks; I had the "Margster Mash" a margarita with muddled fruit, hubby had a local draft. Both were wonderful and went well with the Spinach Artichoke Dip we ordered for our appetizer. Served piping hot with blue corn tortilla chips. Delish! For entrées we each tried the specialty Mac N Cheese. Mine had Buffalo Chicken and hubby went with BBQ pulled pork. The nice thing was the ditalini pasta used. It made the cheese the star of the show instead of a typical elbow or even cavatapi! This chef knows cheese and how to blend them perfectly. The menu is small and yet full of choices! This is going to be one of our go to places from here on!
