Smelters Restaurant

The meals were very large,and really good. Large menu with lot's of options and a large bar selection also. We liked the look of the dessert options,but everyone was too full after the mains alone. The decor is basic,but perfectly fine. If you're looking for a good affordable meal in Queenstown this is a solid option.

Was a great up until chef Grant left. I think this restaurant went down hill pretty quick. Please remember that Tasmanian health & food regulators down here are pretty laxie daisy and are not regularly monitored, if at all. Complaints are ignored not investigated if they are action is not enforced or imposed. No one really cares what disgusting unhygienic food practices go on, anywhere in that town actually.

Very disappointing indeed. They didn't have three of the mains available. I ordered the salmon mainly because of the fennel but they advised me that they were out of fennel too and would I mind chips and salad! My husband's lamb shanks looked like it had been in the warmer for days. Totally unpalatable.
