The White Hart

Came here thanks to the excellent google reviews and we were not disappointed. Wonderful service, we were given a great table, the staff were friendly and helpful. And most importantly, the food was excellent. I cannot remember the last time I had a pub Sunday roast that was this good. Cannot fault our experience.

Had such a lovely lunch. Food was amazing but in particular the service was impecible. I suffer with allergies and Olivia was so helpful. She checked everything with the chef, and even went back multiple times to triple check and change some parts of my order to make sure I could have the meal I wanted. She was so kind and so helpful. Would definitely come back again. Thank you The White Horse.

We had lunch here last Thursday, excellent service and food to match. Very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. We brought our puppy dog with us and he was given a bowl of water as soon as we sat down in the Bar area. Thank you all at The White Horse for making us all so welcome, we will certainly return. genuinely the best experience in a restaurant so far as a disabled person. Taylor greeted us with such a warm manner and was so accommodating when it came to where we could sit. she was so kind, friendly and attentive throughout. what stood out the most to both my mum and i, apart from her lovely personality and great hosting skills, was that with me having very complicated dietary requirements due a rare allergy condition, Taylor did everything and more to make me feel so ‘normal’ and not an inconvenience in the slightest. for a world that is so difficult for me to navigate, it was the first time i’ve been out to eat since being very unwell that i actually enjoyed myself and felt comfortable. Taylor honestly couldn’t have done more - nothing was too much; she went above and beyond. such a kind, genuine person who was extremely personable, easygoing and a good laugh. 10//10 from me and mum. the food was also pretty good. nothing extraordinary but plenty of options for all - very high standards as my mum is a chef at the end of the day😂 would highly recommend to locals and those who happen to be in the area. reasonable prices, incredible customer service and a really lovely place to be. will definitely be going back!!

I went here last night with a party of 6. The food was amazing I really enjoyed my half roast chicken, the gravy was really tasty and the chips were nice and crispy. As expected from a pub the helping sizes were generous. A member of my party had the pork belly and scallops, they said the pork was juicy and soft. However the scallops weren’t seared and there were only two of them so she would recommend just getting the pork without the scallops. A member of my party was quite difficult about their order and the female waiter with a bun was very skulking in politely handling him without making a fuss. I must congratulate her on this. For dessert we ordered a chocolate brownie which was a rich dark chocolate brownie. Aswell as the lotus bomb which is a chocolate circle that you pour hot caramel on and it breaks open to amazing cream, lotus spread and a mini brownie.

I've been coming to this pub on and off for about 18 years and have seen it go through several changes. I'm not a regular, the last time I set foot in here was about 4 years ago, it was great then and great now. What makes this place remarkable is that the changes are never for the worse, the place just moves with the times: decor, food and booze without ever compromising on taste or quality. The menu might be different but man, it's delicious! I even managed to get a few photos in (and if you've read any of my other reviews you'll know I usually scoff everything first!) Admittedly, they are only shots of pudding but I tried! This pub is an amazing pub. The service was really lovely and I mean really lovely, friendly, fun, down to earth, the atmosphere was comfy and chilled and got busier within the hour (do book as it seems quite popular), lovely fire as you come in...just a very nice, comforting feeling. Like you have arrived at your best friend's house. Go and have a yum cocktail while you peruse the menu!
