The Fiction Kitchen is now my favorite vegan spot in Raleigh. The globally inspired menu is creative and flavorful, with fresh, seasonal ingredients. I especially loved the Lion's Mane Rangoons, which was crispy and delicious. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. We also got some mozzarella sticks for starters and some red wine. The noodle bowl and the curry bowl were great entree options and we also added the tofu as a protein on it. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting, with a bright and airy atmosphere. We visited their temporary location as they are rebuilding their old one. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they were happy to answer my questions about the menu. Tres Leches cake was just the perfect way to end the meal.

The food is absolutely amazing and so is the service. Maddie is the best, I think we’re in love. Or maybe that was just the amazing Tres Leches cake she brought us…

I’ve had many vegan meals in my lifetime, and this was among the best — and DEFINITELY the best I’ve had in a restaurant. Food was innovative and layered while not being picky or pretentious. Atmosphere was excellent and casual. Service was very personalized and attentive. Drinks menu was varied and high quality (with plenty of N/A options, which I appreciated!). Zero drawbacks. Excellent experience. Looking forward to coming here every time we visit the Triangle!

I absolutely love Fiction Kitchen! I live in Chapel Hill but it is totally worth the drive to Raleigh because the food is so good. The atmosphere is funky and cozy, the seating arrangement is very thoughtful. The owner/chef Caroline and her staff are awesome! And you really can't go wrong with anything you order here, it is all tasty. Update** Fiction Kitchen is still amazing! I love how they have rotating menu options and specials. The food is always exceptional as well. I am looking forward to seeing how their journey continues in their new space.

I've been coming here for quite a while now - but have only recently come back a few more times since moving back into the Triangle. I've always had such a positive experience here. It's nice to have a place I can take my partner to (who is vegan) and not have to worry about her limiting her options. She's from Portland (which is apparently the vegan capital of the States?) -- and was impressed by this place :) I think that's a pretty big compliment to the chefs! Cocktails are amazing, the vibe is really chill. Parking can be a little tough, but if you're willing to pay, there's a garage close by!

We FINALLY got to try Fiction Kitchen, after years of wanting to! The food was incredible, we got the Lion’s Mane Rangoon to start and the Chick’n n Waffles and Risotto for entrees with the Mac n cheez and pimento cheese fries as sides. Everything was fantastic! Can’t wait to go back!

It’s been a while since I’ve been here and I’m glad I was finally able to get a reservation. Absolutely love the vibe inside. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, and the food superb 🤌🏽! We started with the Lion’s Mane Rangoons and Spring Rolls. Both were done well and had really flavorful sauces that accompanied them. For main course we got the Peanut Noodles & the Risotto. The noodles were 🔥🔥🔥!! (Make sure you add the fried tofu). The risotto was cooked perfect and the added crab cake completed the dish. For dessert we had the blueberry dulce de leche cake and it didn’t disappoint. If you want to try an amazing restaurant with an amazingly creative chef, Fiction Kitchen will not disappoint.

It's a great way to see the cutting edge of vegan food technology done very, very well. It's not necessarily healthy with a lot of deep fried, batter-dipped offerings. It's not exactly fighting against processed foods as many meat and cheese substitutes are a multitude of chemically processed mystery ingredients. But it is definitely cruelty free eating. It's also a treat for vegans craving comfort food or to show carnivores what's possible on the other side. You'll definitely put on a few pounds here and go home full and satisfied. The location is kind of a dive and the windows were rattling continuously so violently and loud to the point where children were scared and I fully expected them to shatter due to Red Hat amphitheater having some techno rave event a block away, but they held for the 2.5 hours we were there. The staff are super attentive, nice and fast. Get your reservations well in advance. Street parking can be difficult.

The Fiction Kitchen is too good! We ordered the vegan mozzarella sticks to share and I got the Impossible Meatloaf which was fantastic. The vegan Chicken and Waffles were also delicious. I really appreciate that they offer fun, non-alcoholic drinks here (I highly recommend the house made spicy ginger soda). The place is super eclectic, and I’ve heard they’re so popular that they’re relocating to a new spot in Raleigh soon! If you’re looking to come to the Fiction Kitchen, it helps to make a reservation as the table and bar fill up pretty quickly.
