Big Ed's North

We were in Raleigh for a work trip and had breakfast here, on a late Saturday morning, before going home. I was surprised that we were sat so quickly! Our server was so nice and quick to get us everything. The decor is so adorable! I loved looking around at all the eclectic items. These biscuits are SO GOOD! Their hot cakes are delicious too! We are excited to come back and will be recommending to friends and family if they’re ever in the area.

This place is like a country diner with a southern flair. The BBQ special was delicious. It included biscuits, corn bread, two sides , drink and dessert for under $12. The banana pudding was awesome with real meringue. The only tip is that there should be more sauces for the BBQ but it was delicious by itself.

I have to admit, my fiancé and I were pleasantly surprised and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. The french toast, scrambled eggs, biscuits and home fries were delicious. The hot cakes are huge. My fiancé enjoyed one of those. Our server also went above and beyond. We will definitely be back in the future.

My first time here with daughter who frequents here for lunches. Being Friday I had the fried haddock,green beans & slaw with corn bread. My meal was so delicious! The fish was awesome & the cornbread amazing. The best I've had in yrs. I will definitely be back. Thank you. The wait staff friendly & on it ! Atmosphere very relaxing..

Wow, so I’ve been eyeing this place for like a year. I never get a chance because the lines are out the door around 10. So, today, my mom and I were on a mission. We got here precisely at 9 a.m., and boy, I was happy. We finally got a chance to enjoy this gem. It would be best if you experienced Ari’s hospitality. He’s the best and looks at your needs to capture what makes sense for you to order. Not only that, but he makes the best Arnold Palmers. Every suggestion he made was spot on! And let’s talk about the Tuna Salad, wow! I ordered the QT to share with my mom for this week's lunch! That’s how good it was! Lastly, his smile is infectious, and if you’re not a smiler, you will be after leaving. Thank you, Ari, for making this Sunday morning the best! Everyone here is friendly and warm, so don’t hesitate to enjoy a memorable meal!

Really enjoyed this place! It’s tough serving a large group so food came slow, but they did a good job. I’m giving Big Ed’s a 4.5 stars! Our waitress was pleasant and personable, she was always ready with refills and gave honest food selection opinions! About the food: they use real eggs! The pancakes are HUGE! Seriously only order 1 you can split it with your family (I will say this was the only disappointment, think ours was over cooked). The grits were good once I added salt and butter. I didn’t order Catfish but I tasted it and it was excellent! I’m not a catfish fan due to poor experiences in the past with dirty fishy taste (iykyk) but this was not that at all! My beef balogna was very good and hubs and daughter enjoyed their French toast and crispy bacon. I would recommend this spot if your visiting.
