K & W Cafeterias

Haven't been in awhile but the wait was worth it. We were able to beat the crowd today for dinner and the food was delicious. On Monday and Saturday they have a 2 dinner special, 1 meat, 2 sides, dessert and bread for $17. That was an added bonus to the trip. My only complaint is that they changed the cornbread. It used to be alot better, now it's just dry and bland.

Went to K&W on Woodburn Rd. and ordered chicken fingers to go at noon. Costed 4.95 plus tax 5.36. Took 15-20 min for the food to cook. When it was ready the cashier tied the bag up so I wouldn't see what's inside of it. I opened the bag up and found 4 little pieces of chicken fingers in it. Confronted the cashier and she told me 4 pieces is all you get. For 5.36 This is highway robbery! Will not set foot in this K&W ever again. Received a letter of apology from K & W regarding this issue. Customer service relations were very professional and courteous in the letter so I am revising the rating to 4 stars. Perhaps a different K & W will offer a better experience.

I've been eating here my entire life. The perfect cafeteria. Their Francisco chicken gives me life. I also really enjoy their baked spaghetti, fried okra, mashed potatoes, Mexican cornbread and chocolate pie. Everything is delicious, though. Really economical, too. Also great whether you're dining alone or a party of 10. Friendly staff. Can't say enough good things.....

I have not been here in years but it was a decent experience. I didn't have anything too heavy with baked chicken, broccoli, black-eyed peas, cucumber salad, garlic toast and water. The establishment was well kept and even though I did not need his help, my waiter was very responsive in asking if I needed anything. The only downside I would say is I've had my salt intake for the month.

I got there early to pick up the Thanksgiving special. When I say early I mean 10:30 a.m. Take out side a little slow but staff was friendly and my fellow consumers were high energy and reminiscing about their favorite holiday dishes. They are so used to consumers using cards that sometimes cash users confuse them. So make sure you get the correct change back. To my most pleasant surprise...their cooking knocked it out of the park. Portions were generous and tasty. Their skills regarding serving large crowds is remarkable especially at Thanksgiving. I interacted briefly with the manager and he gave a new meaning to great customer service. Tips are not encouraged but as always I do my own thing. So just tip discreetly and make someone's day !!!

Great place to come with your family. Meals are affordable, and above average in taste. Let's be honest, it's good for the price, but I wouldn't write home about it. It's usually not too crowded if you arrive early (before 6). I can't say the average age there is skewed upwards, but don't let that stop you from enjoying a good meal.

Very friendly service. They will carry your tray to the table. Very sanitary, they hand all the food to you, not customers reaching in a touching other plates. Excellent selection of traditional American meals. The salad selection is especially good. You slide your tray along front of a long steam table making your selections. Their rolls are very good. I like the turkey dinner entre.
