Mr. Wonderful's Chicken And Waffles

I have been here three times and my expectations were met and exceeded to the point that I brought family after my first time coming and we all agreed that the food was really good really good priced and the staff was wonderful.. I feel like I'm eating my mom's fried chicken and the mac and cheese is really good for restaurant quality because I am very picky when it comes to mac and cheese and I really enjoyed it. The pork chops is seasobed good and the chicken fried to the perfect crispness. ... it's a must go and check it out.... I will be back

I found this restaurant while browsing the Web couple months ago. Pictures looked good so I was determined to try it for myself. I drive 1 hour and 20 minutes to get here and it was well worth it. My son came from Greensboro to meet me and got there before I did, he called me saying they were closed. I was truly disappointed but by time I arrived the manager had opened up. Apparently there was a slight staff issue. I said all that to say this. Even though they were short handed they still opened up and served some delicious food. The lady taking orders was very courteous as well as the young men doing the cooking. They constantly checked on us as well as other customers being very courteous and professional. It was my first time but definitely not my last. The cheesecake waffles was DELICIOUS as well as the chicken. I see a few other things on menu that catches my eye and can't wait to go back and try them.

I love this restaurant like no other. The owners are wonderful. The staff is friendly. The food is amazing. This place has the best chicken wings in Raleigh! The fish is scrumptious too. I am so glad they opened up in our community. I feel the pride and love every time I walk into the door. If you haven't eaten here yet, stop by ASAP and make sure you try some Sweet Jesus Sauce on your chicken or fish.

The owner Mr Wonderful is a great guy he really cares about his customers opinions My fiance and I were offered comedy show tickets from him directly. I ordered the shrimp and grits with Turkey sausage. The shrimp and Turkey sausage were delicious. The lemonade is perfect. My fiance had fish chicken cabbage and Mac and cheese. She didn't try the sweet Jesus sauce but the chicken was great the fish was great and she ordered Banana pudding which was great. They also have a buffet on Sundays for around 13 dollars a person so I shall return.

I had family come into town this weekend and they asked about a good Chicken and Waffle spot in the area. I thought about the one in Downtown Raleigh but didn't quite feel like dealing with downtown traffic, parking and the pricing of their food. I've always seen Mr. Wonderfuls off of New Bern Ave. but never stopped in to try it. My first visit today will definitely not be my last. All five of us were greeted immediately upon walking in. After being seated, the waitress was prompt in taking our orders. When the food arrived, it was hot, fresh and delicious. I definitely will be recommending this restaurant to others and am already looking forward to my next visit. The food is reasonably priced and the portions are of very good size. Thanks again for such a wonderful, first dine in experience.

I stopped here today to eat, and it was my first time going to this restaurant. I wanted some great tasting soul food. I was not disappointed at all! We were waited on by James. He was absolutely AMAZING. He was extremely professional from the second we walked in, until the moment we left. I ordered the waffles and 4 wings, and mac and cheese. The food was DELICIOUS. It's a family style environment, down to earth and comfortable. I'll be back the next time I'm in the area. To the owner, James is AWESOME. HE is the reason I'll be telling everyone I know to make sure they stop in. Thanks for great service and a great meal!

I was there yesterday and had a friend with me from out of state. He ordered the boneless chicken breast w/sides and I ordered the catfish w/sides. Overall it was good. He wasn't happy with his chicken because he said it had way to much breading. Neither one of us enjoyed those yams. To much of something that really changed the taste but everything else was fabulous. I recommend to anyone. I know I'll be back again. ...soon

I'm reading these reviews and kind of like wow!!! Did we all go to the same place??? I have been going here with my wife and telling others about Mr. Wonderful Chicken & Waffles! Love this place from day one. Understand just like any other business, there are Pro's & Con's. We all have different things we are use too. It happens, Me and my wife had not been in a while, but this past Sunday we were in the area after church, said hey lets eat here. Let me tell you Service was wonderful, I gave our waitress a great tip, Food was Excellent, I don't know if I was starving or hadn't eaten there in a while but I definitely Enjoyed my Food, as well my wife! We had no complaints. I think people look for a reason to have something negative to say, being a "black own Establishment" How about we go and support. If you go to any other place and your food is wrong, service was bad, guess what? You complain and STILL COME BACK!!! Mr. WOnderful Chicken & Waffles gets 5 Stars in my Book
