Crab House

My husband and I enjoyed our first meal at this restaurant on a Friday evening after work approx 6:30. This Mexican Seafood and Grill restaurant was clean, had a nice beachy-themed decor, spacious with ample seating. There also appears to be outside seating available. Upon entering, we were promptly greeted, seated and served a complimentary seafood salad and corn tostada chips. We enjoyed it with a Bahama Mama and Blue Margarita. No skimping on alcohol with my Bahama Mama. Yum! Our meals soon followed. My husband ordered the #2 Seafood Combo platter of Crab legs, lobster tails, Mussels, Shrimp with potato and corn on the cob, all wonderfully seasoned and reminded us of a seafood boil. It was DELICIOUS! Would definitely order again! I ordered the grilled oysters (12). They were delicious but small and served with a cup of so-so white rice. I would probably not order this again and instead try other options. Our server was friendly and attentive. Food tasted fresh and was reasonably priced for this area and amount of food that came on the platter. I deducted 1 star because my husband’s dinner arrived first and mine came approx 5-10 minutes later. Good thing he didn’t mind sharing until my oysters arrived. Overall, we will definitely return and highly recommend this seafood restaurant in Pleasant Valley, just off Glenwood Avenue around the corner from Ross and directly across Glenwood from Panera.

This is a beautiful place and known to be a sleeper on Glenwood Ave. The food is seasoned to perfection and the fish is cooked like no other with a crisp delicious taste. I don't think you can go wrong on the menu and not enjoy anything served to you. The staff is very friendly and helpful with your order. This is a must check out plenty of social distancing room and it's very spacious. I'll leave you with this, 😉 Enjoy!

This restaurant is under new management and is now known as Crab House Co, and it does not disappoint! This was my first time eating inside since Covid-19, but it was still a safe decision. The employees have clearly been trained to handle this, and it was easy to distance from other guests. The food was impressive and there was a large menu with something for everyone. I was surprised by how generous the portions were. I RECOMMEND EATING HERE!

We really enjoyed this restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised! The price point is great, the established was friendly and clean. No fishy odor like most seafood restaurants. We ordered 3 seafood boil bags which included crab legs, shrimp, potatoes and corn. We ordered the bang bang seasoning mild and besides the stained hands due to the cheap gloves they provide everything else was great. We have already gone back for a second time!

Overall experience was okay, it was 3pm on a Monday so my family of 4 were the only patrons by the time we left. The restaurant looks really nice inside, we were impressed with the decor. Simple menu with an option of a Mexican cuisine menu. Since it was during the slower hours our server was also the hostess which there is nothing wrong with but during our time with the food she was nowhere to be found and the manager took over and finished us out. The food came out fast and was delivered with bibs, gloves, and utensils needed. We ordered the crab legs and shrimp combo with spicy bang bang sauce and at first the shrimp was missing from the bag but came in another bag just shortly after. To me, everything was pretty salty and I needed extra lemon to finish my plate but my wife said it was seasoned just fine for her. Our kids shared the chicken tenders basket which was enough for them to get full off of and still have leftovers to take home. Like I said overall it was okay, we left full and the bill was about $60 with tip.

Not bad. I was a little trepidatious after the love/hate reviews, but it was pretty solid. Wait staff were friendly. It could definitely use more business, as it was very empty. My husband and I both ordered safe for the first time. I got the fried shrimp and calamari platter. The shrimp were big and delicious. The calamari was a little chewier than I'm use to, especially when fried, but I chalk that up to a personal preference issue. Sweet potato fries were great! Next time I'll try one of the pricier entrees.
