The Southcote Beefeater

I was in a rush but needed to eat so I called ahead and explained my predicament. I had been here before but walked out because they were busy and I was moved to the bar area and forgotten about. This time was much better and I was dealt with throughout by Sophie S. She was friendly and happy and looked after me. What I liked most of all was that she laughed at my jokes. The meal was good - steak and chips with tomato / mushrooms, what's not to like!? Thanks to Sophie, I will probably call again since I usually stay over the road in the Beech House Hotel.

Staff are really helpful and ask about allergies, more than once during our visit. Lunchtime meal. 2 course set menu. Fish and chips was good. I 'upgraded' to Haddock for a little extra. Mushy peas were liquid, no texture but tasted ok. My wife had 5oz gammon. This was very salty and was more like a thick bacon rasher but she finished it. Chocolate brownie and ice cream for pud, what's not to like.

We enjoyed a lovely meal the other evening. It was quite busy but didn’t wait long, the food was good and the service was brilliant. We were very well looked after by Sophie our waitress who was very friendly and attentive. She looked after us throughout the whole evening and made sure we had everything we needed. Very enjoyable evening

We absolutely love it here. Food is always great but the service is terrific. The lady at the front of house, always seats us where we like when available and it’s much appreciated. We can never fault Sophie who was our waitress today. Sophie serves us regularly when we visit here and even remembers our preferences, very grateful! We will continue to visit often. Thanks!

Just love it, Julija was very welcoming, she helped with our choices for what to have as a meal. It was a good evening with a really nice dessert as an amazing finishing touch. She did an amazing job looking after us, always smiling with a good mood. Really enjoyed we will be back sooner then I expected. :)

We visited this restaurant last week and had a great experience. The food was great and it was refreshing to be able to get healthy options. In an age where customer service is no longer a priority it was great to have such warm and friendly staff, in particular Emma who served us. She was hardworking and attentive and was a credit to the place.
