The Queen's Head

This is our local pub, it's a nice place to chill and have a few beers. The staff are good, as is the atmosphere. I have found the food to be hit and miss, it depends on what meal you order. As an example I personally find the burgers to be dry, poor in comparison with other places but their lasagna is absolutely delicious!

just had a Xmas lunch for 30 people. Food and service were excellent. We were in the function room in the garden and, given the weather, a little cold when we arrived but it soon warmed up. Food delivered promptly and, even when the party messed up the distribution and the wrong dish was taken by one of our party, the kitchen worked hard to provide a replacement. Altogether excellent.

My wife and I dropped in to the QH for a meal before going to the Progress Theatre. We left it late and found the pub buzzing with happy drinkers and diners so asked the staff whether we'd get served in time. They checked with the kitchen and took our order. The food was served in good time and it was excellent, as were our beers. Large portions of extremely well prepared pub food and Timmy Taylor Boltmaster ale at its best. We eat well and left for the theatre full and grateful. The show was really great but must admit that I did become a little sleepy after about an hour.
