Smokin' Billy's

I have really enjoyed working at Billys as the HD Supervisor and have been there since June 2019 and each night there is always something new. We have a good friendly atmosphere an my door staff always try to treat customers fairly , and since the introduction of full searches and id scan checks we have seen a huge drop in problems. We still get the odd one or two but nothing major and the Door team always act Professionally and to the best of there ability when dealing with things. I have enjoyed working with Billy as hes been the best manager i have worked for since i started working the doors many years ago. Also the food is of very good quality and staff very friendly

A meal we will never forget, for all the right reasons! Out on a stag do we took a chance on Billys Smokehouse to provide us with some much needed nourishment. We'd been doing activities all day so we weren't even drunk yet and it was around 7pm. As we had to wait half an hour for the food to come they offered us complimentary shots on the house, and while we were coming in from an cigarette outside Billy, the owner, challenged us to a game of fusball, 2 against one, the winner getting another free shot! We lost of course but it was still fun - a very welcoming, comfortable atmosphere. We ordered 40 wings and 3 combo sharers and let me tell you it was the most incredible table of food we could have dreamed of - it all tasted amazing and was piping hot! It was a dream, really. After the meal one of the guys spotted a folded up table tennis table and asked the staff if we could get it out. What followed was a table tennis tornament which must have lasted over an hour, Billy even gave us a Billys Smokehouse embroider t-shirt for the winner! It was fantastic. The beer kept flowing and we couldn't have wished for a better time. The staff were lovely and so warm. At the end when we settled the bill it worked out to £30 each, with a tip included. Perfect. That was one night we will never forget and if ever we go back to reading we will be sure to go there. Thank you Billy and your wonderful staff, you are the best!
