Genghis Grill

I'm always fascinated in trying new places with different types of food. This restaurant looks really great on website with their menus but the food didn't turned out what we were expecting. I ordered a pick your own large bowl and boy the second I saw the "large" bowl, it threw me off. Pretty pricey for a place with such bowl sizes. My stir-fried didn't meet my expectations to the way it smells and tasted. The smell of the meat is like 3 days old and it has that metal rusty smell like an old wet sponge or cloth. They weren't stir throughly to mix all the ingredients. Some of the meat was grilled burnt. Beef was tough to chew as well. I've eaten places like this and it's 10 times better. I'm bot from around here so I wouldn't come back.

First time here so asked the waiter lots of questions about their food selection and process. He was very nice and answered all my questions. The whole staff was nice. The food was great. Ordered the Udon noodles with carne asada, shrimp, and carrots with Mongolian sauce. The carne asada was very well seasoned! The hubby ordered rice noodles with crab. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

As a group of 4, we were greeted nicely at the door and sat quickly but our server took way too long to greet us (~20 minutes) when the place was pretty much empty. The ambiance is lacking, and this style of restaurant felt like a cattle call … Not impressive, but food was good quality and nicely prepared. If I went again, I would be looking for a better experience.

Just got back from Genghis Grill 5/28/2022. We always liked going in the past but after today we maybe rethinking going again. The service was slow and the cost was $$$$$. My 9&11 year olds ordered kids mac&cheese it was $8 a bowl for maybe a half a cup. It didn't even come close to filling them up so we ordered another bowl each in total we paid $32 for maybe 2 cups of supposedly Kraft Mac&Cheese. I gave 2 stars because the bowls the rest of us (4people) got were good.

We have come to this restaurant for many years and it's going down in quality. We could see it was very busy but we didn't mind waiting. The problem was after an hour of waiting for the chefs to cook our food the waitress handed me a burnt bowl of food. They started out with 3 guys cooking down to 1 guy even though it was still busy. They let my food stay on the flat top till it was completely burnt and then served it to me. It was definitely an issue with who was in charge of what sections. Why would they just leave and not come back to finish what they started and just let it burn to a black gooey mess. The person who seated us was very nice though and refunded my dinner, but we paid for my husband's as his was only slightly burnt. It was so bad that I don't know if I want to take the chance to ever go back.

Reviewed on April 2nd, 2021. Picked up a to go order here for dinner. I hadn't been here since the pandemic rolled in and was doubtful about how good the traditional dine in experience and food would be if taken to go. Ordering was easy online and a 45 minute wait during peak dinner hours before my pickup was ready. Very acceptable for a Friday evening in South Reno. The order was exactly as requested and on time. The food was top notch and everyone was very happy at home with their meals. Great job Genghis Grill!
