Candelarias

I discovered Candelaria's one day while attending a show at the Reno Sparks Convention Center. I called in a to go order for four. I had the Fish and Chips. The food was hot and ready when I arrived. The staff was friendly, the orders correct and plenty of condiments and plastic wear. There are several food choices in this area Most are a 5-10 minute walk. A few recquire crossing a busy street and dodging cars. You'll cross a street getting to Candelaria's but there's a light and crosswalk. Since then I've been back several times. The food is always good.

I just enjoyed their Pecan Chicken Salad Wrap. It's wrapped in a Spinach tortilla and it was beyond delicious! It was fresh and the flavors just blended wonderfully! I'd share a picture but I was half way done before I thought to take it... Guess that means I'll have to stop by again ☺ I highly recommend this place... A must try!

The Agency I work for all just ordered lunch from this place today and it was highly disappointing. The only reason we did is because the "Manager" came by to drop off brochures yesterday 1/18/2018 to our office, and said to mention him when we are ordered to get free drinks or chips and salsa. Figured that was a great deal and we all wanted to try a new place. When we ordered the lady acted like she had no idea what we were talking about when we mentioned him dropping off the brochure and offering free drinks or chips and salsa, and took her three different tries to get our address correct. They did give us free drinks after we mentioned it several times. We ordered horchata which no one could even drink. The ice was melted when it got here and it tasted processed. No way that it is freshly made, maybe freshly poured from a can or carton. She messed up on our order several times while trying to place it and read it back to us several times. At that point we should have just given up, but the pictures in the brochure made it look really good and it was their Grand Opening and we love to support local businesses. We ordered around 11:15-11:20am so it would get here by lunch time. It arrived just to find out that they forgot one of the orders. When we called back they said it wasn't on the receipt even though the lady confirmed the order three times. Had to re-order, they offered to wave the delivery fee but said it would take 30-40 minutes to arrive. The food tasted bland, processed and everyone in the office was surprised by how bad the customer service was and how bad the food was, especially for the price. $50 for four meals that was mediocre at best. Will not eat here again and will not recommend this place.

It was ok.. I had the crane asada, which every where I had it before it was served with lime and diced onion.. which I had to ask for.. best was tender and good and the service was very friendly. My companion had the chile relleno and I have never seen the chile held together with 2 extremely large tooth picks .. this was very ... inexperienced in my opinion. But he said it was decent otherwise. The place was completely empty aside from the one other customer.. who couldn't pay their bill and had a hilarious story as to why. I'll give it a 5/10. Nit sure I'll return. But it's worth a try to see if it's better for you.

I used to order from the Candelaria’s in Sparks almost everyday at work for lunch. It was literally my favorite place for some quick, delicious, inexpensive, filling food to get me through a horrendous day of work. Everyone there was always super friendly, never left me with a bad experience. But then they closed 😭😭😭

Visited the Peckham Lane store this morning. NOTE that these two restaurants have different owners. Was expecting a menu loaded with Mexican dishes. Great disappointment. 99% of the items I can get at a local Denny’s and for better prices. Had chorizo and eggs and was disappointed. No flavor and small portions of rice and beans.

Not the typical person to do review's but felt the need to. We went on a Saturday and there was just one table we thought it wasn't going to be to long but it took a while for the server to get our order still ok I guess, but then we waited 40 min for 4 tacos and 4 pupusas, the carne asada tacos were horrible tasted rancid, and the pupusas were not cooked you could tast the uncooked masa it would stick up on your roof of yoir mouth ,although the lady was nice and apologized this was my 2nd time going the 1st time the wait was long just to get the order and I ended up just going to the chinese place next door but I thought to give them another chance since they recently opened and still getting things down but with this 2nd time I'm convinced that the service and the food is not what I expected, very disappointed, it's a nice spot and clean but they need to get another cook and an extra cashier/server.
