Ricco's Pizza

The pizza was ok, not terrible but definitely not the “best pizza” like some people have commented. We are in town for an event at the Livestock Arena and needed to feed a bunch of kids, this was close and had good reviews. There was very little cheese - you can see the crust through the cheese in my pics. The sausage was not good. If you want a drink, go to the gas station across the street - $3 for a bottle of water that you get a case of for the same price-yikes! Side of ranch is $3 because they give you way too much to even use for one pizza. Area is a little sketch.

This is the best pizza in the area. Everything is so fresh and flavorful. I love the long strips of onions and green peppers. The white sauce is amazing. The staff is super friendly. I really appreciate that they take an extra five seconds to open the box and show me my pizza before they ring me up. The only downside is that, for some reason I cannot explain, there is a disproportionate drop-off in quality when eating their pizza as leftovers. Something happens to the crust that makes it, I don't know, somehow harder to eat. Don't get me wrong, I still eat it, but I tend to throw the crust ends away or drown them in ranch to help get them down my gullet. It's weird. I don't know what could be done about it, if anything. Regardless, still five stars for Ricco's. I love this place.

This pizza made fiancée & I so sick! We were in the bathroom literally all night. We know it was the pizza because we really didn’t eat much that day besides breakfast that we have normally. We literally had diarrhea all night until the this morning. We were so excited to try this pizza because of the reviews. All the manager said was sorry about that. He could have cared less. STAY AWAY. I’m also forwarding my concerns to the health department in Reno. This is not okay. We ordered a medium Hawaii pizza. $18 down the drain. Just to make us sick. We threw the rest of the pizza out.

When you get to be an old timer, increasingly you will find cliches to become a larger part of your communication. It is just natural in that many cliches are based on basic truths. So forgive me in advance! When you combine "hole in the wall", with "mom and pop", it normally won't inspire a spark of "I gotta get THERE"! In this case it should! Ricco's, from the outside is nothing remarkable. And the food served there falls just a little short of spectacular. That having been said, this establishment certainly merits your evaluation. Price, quality, selection, all click top notch rankings. You won't find the hot new bourbon drink, or flashy upscale new recipes. What you will find is that local established, go to for weekend take away, that at one point was certainly THE hot spot, and having rode that wave, perhaps is a little forgotten in today's glitzy market. From this perspective, you will find tasty standard pizza parlor fare. And have money left over for that fancy bourbon drink. Sometimes mom and pop's do just fine.
