Shogun Grill & Sushi Bar

My favorite hibachi place in Houston! I order takeout from here pretty often, the portions are huge and so are their prices. It’s a treat to get soup and your salad included in your hibachi to go, I don’t always get that at other restaurants it’s usually one or the other. The food is also delicious and very flavorful. Recently had the pleasure of dining inside to celebrate a birthday and the service was amazing! Drinks were great, strong but not overpowering, and the service was top-tier. The entire staff was attentive and the chef was very entertaining. I look forward to more family nights spent at Shogun or being shared around our dining table.

It was pretty good, overall, the food was delicious as usual, no matter the location, the only complaint that I really have is that we were the only two at the table and the gentleman who cooks forest didn’t really try to give much of a show. One of the things I love most about this restaurant is the entertainment while they cook. Another thing that really bothered me is the fact that so many staff members were just sitting around on their phone the whole time in the front like nobody was there. I understand you don’t have anything going on with that doesn’t mean the blatantly obvious about it. Overall though I will definitely say I really like this location.

Enjoyed almost everything about this place. The chef's show was engaging and he made sure to include everyone at our table. It's a nice experience to have the food prepared right in front of you. We ordered noodles with chicken, the salmon with rice, and tiger eye sushi. Food was good except that the fried rice grains were hard. But all in all, it's a place I would definitely want to visit again.

Went for lunch. Fod was tasty but I wish the rice had held together better on the rolls. Tried the spider roll but wasn't too fond of the breading on the Crab. Was like a cornmeal batter instead of light batter type. Also had the New York roll with spicy tuna and salmon. Was good but fell apart as you ate it. Tepenaki (steak) was cooked perfectly with veggies, rice and a salad.

Shotgun easily earned a 5 star rating. From sushi to the famous teppanyaki grill they do it right. Outstanding service, reasonable prices, awesome staff and all around a great experience. From the bar to the sushi, the menu is perfect. From the moment you sit down to the moment you part ways at the end of a great meal you will get great service and authentic cuisine. Multiple dining options from booths to tables or the quintessential teppanyaki grill experience where they really put on a great show of cooking your meal in front of you. Really engaging and fun experience. They do offer options for special diets - with gluten free being available. So let your wait staff know and if doing teppanyaki grill let the chef know and they will accommodate you. Special shout out to Joshua who really made it a great meal with his amazing talent and attention to detail.

Great size booths for big family. Great prices compared to other hibachi places . This is my families go-to place for hibachi and sushi. Food never disappoints. Out of 20+ times only had at most 2 bad waiters . I recommend this location for sure . ** We do not do the hibachi side: we do not want to leave smelling like food .

Been wanting shushi for a while. Decided to try this place out since and I’m glad we did. The hostess was nice. She referred some drinks and menu items to us. I don’t eat raw sushi so they do have a menu page that’s all cooked, so that helped out a lot. Even the frozen drink was great, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t ever drink alcohol. Sushi only fills you up so much so we decided to try the fried rice. We got the combo with chicken, shrimp and beef. The only gripe is that there were only 3 jumbo shrimp on the whole bowl. 🙁🙁🙁

Oh my... I thought I had eaten good sushi but this place takes it to another level! I left satisfied and stuffed lol. I had no idea I ordered a lot of food, because let me tell you the portions are generous! The staff is very accommodating, the place is kept clean. I got the lobster roll and it’s delicious! It’s wrapped in soy paper instead of seaweed and it’s just the perfect combination of everything.
