Galo's Italian Grill

One of the best restaurants in the area! Galo's never disappoints. Such a beautiful restaurant with a romantic feel to it. Our dinner was absolutely fantastic as always. The bread and oil to start was perfect. Both of our meals were top notch. She had the mushroom ravioli and I had the penne carbonara. Crazy good! So rich and flavorful. We finished up sharing some tiramisu for dessert and the wife also had a cup of coffee with some Irish cream. And last, but not least, our waitress was extraordinary as usual. Super friendly and helpful. Don't miss this place. Once you try it, you'll keep coming back.

We had no reservations and landed on this unsuspecting team with 15 people for our own personal reasons and they rose to the occasion. One server managed the dozen appetizers and breads and drinks easily. She then took great care of everyone's individual order. The food was fresh, hot and delicious from start to finish. Everyone was very pleased with their choices from wood-fired pizza to chicken marsala and much more. Beautiful decor and clean facilities. No one rushed us at any point. Drinks were refreshed often.

Had an unusual experience. The food was excellent and so was the service. My only complaint is when cleaning the tables near us they used a strong smelling cleaner that choked me up and when presented to the manager she blew us off. I have asthma so it kind of effected our whole experience. Keep in mind the tables are about two feet away from each other.

I went here with my aunt. I ordered the pasta rustica with penne pasta instead of spaghetti. The peppers were unevenly cut and not cooked fully. The mushrooms were too thickly cut. The sausage was just gray looking with no browning or anything. On top of that it has no flavor. We were just passing through and we're starving, we voiced our complaints and the manager did offer to replace the meal, we were not interested in a replacement. The owner took 50% off our bill. Save your money though. Alfredo from a can tastes better than this place.

This restaurant was by far my favorite! The presentation of the dishes was simply amazing. We had to wait for the remainder of our party to arrive so we sat at the bar. The bartender was courteous and we didn't have to wait for service. Then we were taken to meet the rest of our party. We all ordered different dishes and the quantity was as good as the quality! I will definitely revisit when in the area.

Galo's Italian Grill is a wonderful restaurant to experience when in the Richmond area. The exterior is well maintained, and the shrubs are well cared for. The interior is tastefully decorated with Italian scenes and furniture. The seating is spacious and comfortable with clean tables and cloth napkins. Our waitress was Kaitlyn, who explained the menu and some of the favorites and answered our questions with authority. The menu has many choices from appetizers to desserts with several having different combinations. We choose a couple of basic entrees of meat lasagna and meat balls and penne pasta. The meal comes with bread and dipping sauce. The bread was very good with some cheese baked on top and very crusty. The herb oil was excellent and made the bread even better. We even got a second serving of bread. The meat balls and penne pasta was excellent with a delicious marinara sauce that had plenty of chunky tomatoes and vegetables. The penne was cooked just right as it was not soggy nor chewy. The lasagna was excellent also with plenty of meat, cheese and sauce with just right noodles. Kaitlyn visited our table several times to ask about the meal as well as being very pleasant to talk to about Italy. As it turned out we took about half of each meal with us along with some more bread and oil with us to have the next day. We also ordered a very generous piece of turtle cheesecake to go with us. Kaitlyn packaged all of the turtle toppings separately so we could finish preparing it the next day. The leftovers were prepared in a microwave and tasted just like in the restaurant. The quality and quantity of food for the price was excellent. We were visiting the area for a few days when we found Galo's. We will definitely return to Galo's when in the area again. Ask for Kaitlyn as she was excellent.

We are passing through and chose this place because it was recommended at our hotel. The food was excellent. Fast, fresh and reasonably priced. We enjoyed everything we ordered. My one note to management is that the busboy cleaned the table next to us by pushing the straw wrappers and other refuse on the floor. I looked at the table on the other side and saw the same cleaning job. I think they could do better. But got and service was great, so I still give this place a 5.
