Clara's Pizza King

An awesome Indiana pizza tradition. From the double-decker bus seating to phones for calling your order in to the classic Royal Feast, you can't miss with Richmond's Pizza Kings. The waitress was nice and quick with service. The place was clean and looks great after 64 years. Restrooms could use a little work but all in all it was a nice lunch stop.

Where else can you have pizza in a double decker bus? And use a retro phone to call in your order from the table? If the bus isn’t your thing, you can sit in a booth outside the bus, which is parked in the restaurant, and enjoy the lovely stained glass in this building, which is tucked away from the main streets of Richmond, IN. Pizza King is not my fav pizza, but my family and many others rave and will drive far to get it. You will not know that it is a Pizza King from the outside, however, as the building simply says “Clara’s” Good tip- we called our order in ahead as a pick up and so it was ready for us to take to our table when we walked in. Especially great if you have little ones.

I came with several friends of mine and this was my first time eating here. I ordered a large pizza, it was honestly the best pizza I've ever had. You'll just have to go see for yourself if you don't believe me. We had a fairly large group and our waitress was also very accommodating. She did a great job taking care of us. I wish I'd gotten her name but I didn't unfortunately. Thank you Clara's pizza and I promise next time I'm in town I will most definitely be returning!

We came here on a weekday around 9:45 (they close at 11:00). As we walked in, one of the waitresses saw that we were a group of 8, rolled her eyes as she walked back into the kitchen and said "oh my god". This gave us a very poor first impression of this restaurant. We understand that it can be hard to serve a large group, but there were about 2 other groups in the entire restaurant so they weren't exactly busy. However the pizza was very delicious and we enjoyed the novelty of the little slices. We loved the unique decor and ordering on the phone! Overall we enjoyed our meal, just wish we weren't given attitude for going out to eat with a big family...

Our food was good. We had a large group and had called ahead to let them know we'd be brining a large group. As soon as we arrived the manager was extremely rude and shouted at us, that they only had 3 employees there today. So thar if we expected our food in 20 minutes to go somewhere else. She was very visibly angry at us being there and was rude for the rest of our visit. The waitress was very nice and accommodating as she could be. If we didn't have out of town family craving pizza king we definitely would have left and went somewhere else.
