Wicked Cheese Factory

I had been here before and wanted to come back while in town. I was a bit disappointed this time The service was very average, and the price was a bit expensive (nearly $80.00 for 2 people). The cheese kransky in a baguette was nice, on a fresh roll. Ordered the wicked platter for 2, I love how it comes with cold cuts and fresh cheeses. I did love how much froth was on the cappuccino. My experience may be due to the service being average. Might go back again.

We were introduced to this place by my son who lives n works in Hobart. We are Malaysians on holiday in Tasmania. I am not a cheese fan but the rest of the family is. Great range of cheese n lots of other delicious food including wine n coffee on sale. The staff were helpful n knowledgeable. We enjoyed our visit thoroughly. The family chomped on the cheese while I was enjoying the beautiful countryside outside the building. Will come back again. Back here again in May 2022. Wicked platter is delicious. I go for the salmon slices while the family attack the different types of cheese on the platter.

Was here a few weeks ago on holidays and spent over $200 on nearly every kind of item as I’m a chef and food lover. We tried some of the cheese before leaving and some when we got home, and nearly all of the cheddar had a bitter metallic taste to them. Also none of the specific flavours were there at all. For example the whiskey cheddar had no flavour of whiskey at all. The smoked mozzarella was the only one that lived to its name and was Smokey, but again, really bitter and metallic after taste. This wasn’t just me noticing this either, nearly 15 different people tried these cheeses and nobody like them because of the bitterness. Clearly these cheeses were not drained enough or not salted enough. Which is disappointing for how much we spent, and after seeing all the awards you have, we simply expected a lot better. The shelf life on some of these cheeses was also not very long at all.
