Sunitra's Thai Restaurant

We loved our meal here. I had the red curry, my son had green curry and my wife had prawn noodles. When I first saw the curries my heart sank a little because they looked slightly watery but I needn't have worried - they both tasted sensational. Both the meat and the veg in the curry were deliciously succulent. The quality and taste were superb. My wife loved hers too. Nice ambience. Highly recommended.

Please be aware when reading reviews for Sunitras - they have been open just under a year. The previous restaurant using the same premises was called Taste of Thailand. Some reviews relate to the previous restaurant ( check the dates) and they retired last year. The restaurant has been very tastefully updated & is very clean and fresh - all new furniture. The food is fantastic, authentic Thai food cooked by Sunitra - and waitresses are lovely and very attentive. Give it a try - you won’t be disappointed.

I wasn't sure what to expect given the mixed reviews. The restaurant is tired looking but if you can see past that the food is really good. The service was good, very polite but also trying to help out in the kitchen so I can see why people think it's slow. Our waitress was very attentive otherwise. Starters of dumplings and ribs were excellent, as was Pad Thai and Thai green prawn curry with coconut rice. The flavours are really good, seasoned well and nothing could be added. The kitchen does a great job. The price including a bottle of wine was about 30% less than I've paid for any meal recently.
