Curry Garden

Had a nice meal at this place. The staff was polite even when the restaurant was very busy. There is a suggestion: The smell of the oil in the papadum was very strong. It seemed to have used old oil. If this thing gets fixed, there was nothing else that would give me or even a customer like me a chance to complain!

Myself and my husband booked a table for dinner to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We were staying at a hotel nearby and after reading the reviews for The Curry Garden decided to book. I'm so glad we did. It's the best Indian meal we've ever had. The service was excellent too. The food was delicious, from the poppadoms and dips to the gorgeous main course. Absolutely brilliant. We highly recommend it. The only thing we're disappointed about is that we don't live nearby so can't go every week!

The restaurant is a bit hidden away so we missed it when we went past it the first time. We had to double back on ourselves to make sure we had the right location. The food itself was a change from the usual indian we order from. It was not greasy or oily at all. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We were served an unexpected amount of poppadoms (we weren't asked how many we wanted) with a large amount of chutneys, they were delicious and well made. The curries/mains that we ordered had spice levels that were expected, the chicken and lamb was moist and well stewed. The curries had volume and thickness was appropriate. Everything was perfect albeit the slightly high pricing - but I imagine that that is mostly out of the owner's control, especially post covid. Otherwise, everything was ideal.
