Wong's House

Absolutely terrific. My wife and I found ourselves lost in Ringwood over the weekend. aha! There stood the great Wong’s House in all its magnificent glory. Having tried the satay, curry and rainbow beef.. I can indeed confirm that this restaurant is indeed what it boasts: an authentic and powerful journey for the taste buds. Bravo

Beware if ordering for delivery. The store organises its own delivery so the Menulog updates are pointless (we found this out afterwards). The food was left at our doorstep with no notification from the store. Contactless delivery doesn’t mean just drop it at the door and hope we know. By the time we realised, it was cold 🤷‍♀️

I was a skeptic until I tried it out one evening. The Chinese Cantonese food is legit (refer to the two photos below). If it wasn’t the speed of service I’d give it a full 5 stars. It is very busy over the weekends - be prepared to wait if you’re taking away. I guess it’s a sign of true testament of quality of food that people keep coming back. In addition to the rating, I give Wongs House a 9/10 for authenticity.

This is the first review I've made I'm super disappointed.Ordered iteam number 24 (chef recommendation) rainbow beef with mandarin sauce the batter is thick soggy and disgusting! Some of the batter didn't even have meat. I wish I could leave this review with 0 stars but apparently it won't post without one. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Ordered Rainbow Beef, Pipa Tofu (Pipa beancurd), and 2 bowls of steamed rice for dinner on Thursday. Total 43.00 AUD. There is no surcharge for Card payments. The Rainbow beef's meat was very tender and melted in your mouth. The dish was well presented, however I felt there was too much flour and there was more coating than meat. Pieces were not very crispy and the sauce felt under-seasoned. The Pipa Tofu was an interesting dish. It came with a flavorful sauce. However I felt that the tofu themselves were under-seasoned, and I think the dish could be improved if the tofu pieces were cut into smaller pieces (maybe 30% smaller per piece), to make them bite-sized. The waitstaff were extremely attentive, to the point that it was a little disruptive to my liking. Our table was the only occupied table at the time, maybe that was the reason why they were very attentive.

Great tasting Chinese food. Polite and happy staff! Very clean. Standard decor for typical Chinese restaurant but very clean. *Another great feature is the ability to add e tea ingredients! Eg with the fried rice you can add extra prawns or pork and 'You Decide' how much you want. For example, we get special fried rice with $2 of extra prawns-shrimp & $3 extra pork and it's a meal in itself! To go with that we ask for tubs of sauces in any flavor you like. We get Sweet & Sour & put some on the rice before we heat it up. Before microwaving rice, *akways run your hand under the tap, then flick the water onto the rice & repeat. This ensures that your rice doesn't dry out and makes it all fluffy again!
