The Swinging Pig

Been going to this pub for years and always loved the food and staff have always done a good job. Went tonight with the wife. Ordered fish and chips. Waited for a very long time to get it and the place was very quiet. Fish was rubbish. Well overcooked and dry to a point less than half one piece eaten out of two large pieces. Sorry I can only think it may be a new chef but I'm afraid I won't be back. It's a shame.

Food is less than average quality, pork scratchings on the menu look like hot strips fresh cooked, but they’re actually ragged strips cold & kept in a mason jar behind the bar. Bar & wait staff clearly inexperienced & unhappy to be providing a service. Drinks & food prices above their quality. Unhappy staff = unhappy customer.

A group of us went there and tried to order dinner. They advised us that you could no longer order meals over the bar like they do in normal pubs. You have to do it at your table with a QR code. I've no idea why as the QR code to log into venues has been abolished along with the lockdown. We walked out and went to Hanks Bar & Bistro nearby on Ennis Avenue where you can order meals over the bar like it should be. Swinging Pig must've lost between $250 to $300 in meals and drinks. Won't be going back there again.

Havent been in a while as last time was dissapointed. This time the exact opposite. Chicken snitzel tasty and cooked to perfection. Chips a bit salty for me but still ate them all so must have been ok. Three other adults had burgers and these were so filling none could finish. If it wastnt for the smokers in the non smoking areas this would have been a five star experience.
