visited this place in the afternoon for a pint of beer & special sandwich! The foods were great, the boss' chill. lovely place to visit.

Stopped for lunch. Best decision lately! Excellent burger, great value, great service. Lots of choice on the menu, and looked like a good place to settle in for a few beers.

Parked our camper for a night. Great pub meals and amazing getting to know the locals. So many stories to share too.

A truly classic New Zealand country pub, nothing fancy, but lots of atmosphere. The usual standard range of beers, but crisp, clean and the right temperature (cheap too). Didn't have a meal, but they looked huge. Pool tables and accommodation as well.

Delicious food and helpful host Vicki. Best burger my mother in law had in NZ. Also best veggie burger I've had. Of the 4 veggie burger options I chose quinoa and feta. Served with beetroot. Was delicious! Wedges were perfection. Vicki explained sweet chili sauce to us uncultured Americans. Lovely selection of meads. Pool tables and juke box add to ambiance but kids were welcomed with kiddie menu and tolerant patrons. I would definitely recommend for after/before thermal wonderland or waikite pools. Looks a little sleepy but really excelled.

we stopped in for a beer and a meal with the kids, and it was excellent. the kids (under 12) played pool and had a great time.

Old school kiwi tavern. Affordable 'camping' out the back. Would have liked to have tried a room but they don't have many so they're usually booked up. Great location for seeing the geothermal attractions in the area and good burgers.
